Abbotsford

The Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre is a 7,046-seat multi-purpose arena in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. The arena was expected... to cost $64.7-million. Construction began on September 24, 2007. Its current tenant is the Abbotsford Heat, the Calgary Flames' American Hockey League affiliate. Beginning in fall 2012, it will also be home to the BC Angels of the Lingerie Football League's Canadian Division. On September 25, 2006, Abbotsford council voted unanimously to hold a referendum asking voters to borrow $85-million to fund three community projects, including a new entertainment and sports centre. The arena was approved by Abbotsford voters on November 25, 2006 with a 54.8% majority. The new arena has an initial capacity of 7,000 seats with room for expansion to 8,500. There are 200 club seats, 12 boxes, 20 private suites, and 2 party suites.

Nicole Evangeline Lilly is a Canadian actress who starred as Kate Austen in the ABC television drama Lost, from 2004 to 2010. Evangeline Lilly was... born in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada, and raised in small-town British Columbia in a Baptist and Mennonite family. Her father was an economics teacher, and her mother was a beauty consultant. Lilly also has two sisters. She graduated from W. J. Mouat Secondary School in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Lilly previously served as a missionary in the Philippines and a flight attendant with Royal Airlines. She speaks French very well. She attended the University of British Columbia and attained a degree in International Relations. On December 20, 2006, Lilly's house in Kailua, Hawaii, was completely destroyed by fire while she was on the Lost set. The cause of the fire was an electrical problem. Lilly was previously married to Canadian hockey player Murray Hone. From 2004 to 2009, she dated Lost co-star Dominic Monaghan. She had her first child, a son named Kahekili , with boyfriend Norman Kali in Hawaii in May 2011. Lilly studied acting at The Yaletown Actors Lab.

Alanna Kraus is a Canadian short track speed skater. She won the bronze medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in short-track speed skating for the... women's 3000 m relay. She competed in three individual events at the 2002 Games. In the 500 m she placed 6th; 8th in the 1000 m and 5th in the 1500 m. She was also a silver medalist at the 2000 Goodwill Games. In the 2006 Winter Olympics she won silver as part of the short track relay team in the 3000 meter race with Tania Vicent, Kalyna Roberge, and Anouk Leblanc-Boucher. In her only individual event at the Games, the 500  she placed 9th. She won a silver medal in the relay event at the 2006 World Championships. Kraus first started speed skating at age four. She is one of many of Olympic athletes to come from the National Sport School based in Calgary, Alberta.
