Netball SA Stadium is a sporting venue located in Adelaide, South Australia, opposite Santos Stadium, Adelaide's premier athletics stadium. It is a... specialist netball facility, hosting matches in both the national ANZ Championship and state Dairy Farmers Cup, as well as some international matches. However, it also hosts competitions in several other indoor sports, including judo and gymnastics. It contains four indoor netball courts, which seat up to 3,200 people, and 26 outdoor courts for more minor games. It is located on former railway yards in the suburb of Mile End. State electricity company ETSA Utilities previously held naming rights to the stadium, which was initially named ETSA Park. The venue officially opened in March 2001 as a specialist netball facility in the state, at a cost of A$11.1 million. This had been sorely needed, as the formation of the national Commonwealth Bank Trophy had meant that the two new Adelaide teams, the Adelaide Thunderbirds and the now-defunct Adelaide Ravens had needed a permanent base with proper facilities, with all prior games being held at the Adelaide Arena.

The National Wine Centre of Australia is a public exhibition building about winemaking and its industry in South Australia. It contains an... interactive permanent exhibition of winemaking, introducing visitors to the technology, varieties and styles of wine. It also has a wine tasting area, giving visitors the opportunity to taste and compare wines from different areas of Australia. The Wine Centre is situated at the eastern end of North Terrace, Adelaide in the east parklands and adjacent to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. The building is designed and uses building materials to reflect items used in making wine. The external of the building looks like a section of a wine barrel. Outside the building are rows of grapevines, showing seven different varieties of grapes to curious visitors who normally wouldn't have access to a vineyard to see the differences for themselves. Its development by the Olsen Liberal State Government was shrouded in controversy and it was labelled as a white elephant by the Opposition. It eventually opened on 7 October 2001 after enabling legislation created the concept in the National Wine Centre Act .

Government House, located in Adelaide on the corner of North Terrace and King William Road, is the official residence of the Governor of South... Australia. The original 'Government Hut' was a thatched hut constructed by the seamen of the HMS Buffalo. Governor Hindmarsh wrote in May 1837 I have but one end of my mud hut finished an all my family lay on the floor of one room while two smaller ones serve for Mrs. H., myself and a female servant. When Lieutenant Colonel George Gawler replaced John Hindmarsh in 1838, he abandoned plans for a permanent house of timber and gave directions for the erection of a new building of masonry to cost £4,000 - if possible, but not to exceed £5,000. A plan had been obtained from an English architect, Edward O'Brien, but this was amended by George Strickland Kingston, who had come to South Australia as an assistant to the Surveyor General, William Light, and who had had some experience in architecture and building. When Kingston received tenders for the proposed work they were in the vicinity of £7,000. After further amendment of the plans to reduce the cost, a contract was let to the builders, Messrs East and Breeze.

Parliament House, on the corner of North Terrace and King William Road in Adelaide city centre, is the seat of the Parliament of South Australia. It... was built to replace the adjacent and overcrowded Parliament House, now referred to as "Old Parliament House". Due to financial constraints, the current Parliament House was constructed in stages over 65 years from 1874 to 1939. A commission, appointed by the Governor of South Australia, was set up in 1874 to adjudicate a design competition for the new building. A design by prominent Adelaidean architect Edmund Wright and his partner Lloyd Taylor was selected winner. This Greek Revival design featured ornate columns of the Corinthian order, impressive towers and a grand dome. However, lack of funds resulted in the towers and dome being removed from the design that was implemented. Occasionally, plans to construct the towers and dome are revived, but none have ever been implemented. Parliament House was built with Kapunda marble and West Island granite. Construction began on the West Wing in 1874 and was completed in 1889 at a cost of £165,404.

It was known as the National Gallery of South Australia until 1967 when the current name was adopted. The Art Gallery is located adjacent to State Library of South Australia, the South Australian Museum and the University of Adelaide, AGSA is part of Adelaide's North Terrace cultural precinct and has more than 510,000 visitors annually. As well as its permanent collection, the AGSA displays a number of visiting exhibition every year, and also contributes travelling exhibitions to regional galleries. The gallery was established in 1881 and opened in two rooms of the public library by Prince Albert Victor and Prince George, later George V of Great Britain. The present building dates from 1900 and was extended in 1936 and 1962.

The Old Government House of South Australia is a historic building located in Belair National Park. It was the summer residence of the Governor of... South Australia from 1860-1880, and was used by governors Richard Graves MacDonnell and Dominick Daly . It is now a tourist attraction and is open to the public on Sundays and public holidays. Old Government House was South Australia’s first official vice-regal summer residence. It was constructed from local sandstone, with the red-brick for the quoins sourced from the Blackwood brickworks, and a native timber shingle roof. The residence's indoor plunge-pool was reportedly the first in the colony. It was superseded by a larger summer residence at Marble Hill, completed in 1880. It was then used by the curator of the Department of Woods and Forests Nursery until it was transferred to the National Parks and Wildlife Reserves in 1961. Minor renovation work was carried out and the building was opened as a museum. More extensive renovations in the 1970s and again in 2002-03 restored the building to its original grandeur.

The National Railway Museum, Port Adelaide, South Australia, is the current site of the Port Dock Station Railway Museum's vast Australian Railway... Collection. The museum was founded in 1963, by a group of rail preservationists who managed to convince the South Australian Railways Commissioner to allocate land on the site of the former Mile End Roundhouse to house a small collection of withdrawn steam locomotives. The original site, on Railway Terrace Mile End, had only a small number of exhibits under cover. Most items had to be housed on the site in the open air. The effects of weather took their toll on the exhibits, so an alternative undercover venue was sought. In 1988 the Museum was fortunate enough, with the involvement of the History Trust of SA, to obtain a $2m Australia's bicentennial Commemorative Grant to relocate to its current site and to provide covered accommodation for the exhibits. On 2 January 1988 the gates at the Mile End Railway Museum closed for the last time and on 10 December 1988, after almost a year of frantic activity, the Port Dock Station Railway Museum Port Adelaide was officially opened by the Premier of South Australia, The Hon John Bannon.

In the company were some American actors who convinced Anderson to try her luck in the United States. She went to California but was unsuccessful, and tried New York, with an equal lack of success.
