Richard Wong joined Accel Partners in 2006, with a focus on mobile and broadband services software, as well as messaging and security applications.... Rich currently serves on the board of AdMob, the leading mobile advertising company, and Sana Security. Through pre-Accel associations, Rich also serves as a board advisor to Plaxo, Simplicita, and 4thMedia. Some of Rich’s writing on key trends in the mobile industry can be found here. Prior to Accel, Rich was SVP/GM of Products at Openwave. In this capacity, Rich launched several of OPWV’s most successful new products such as the Edge security gateway , integrated messaging, and location-based services. Rich was previously GM of Messaging Products, growing the business from $50MM to $180MM from 2003 to 2005, and Chief Marketing Officer from 2001 to 2003. While at Openwave, Rich founded and chaired the Messaging Anti-Abuse Working Group, a consortium of ISPs and technology providers working together to combat internet abuse. Previously Rich was the Chief Marketing Officer and EVP/GM of Value-Added Services at Covad Communications, the DSL provider. During his time Covad revenue grew from $5MM to $250MM. Preceding Covad, he was a management consultant for McKinsey & Company, focusing on software and consumer technology. Rich started his career as a Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble Mr. Wong holds a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. Rich remains active as an EVP of the MIT Club of Northern California, Board Member of the MIT CNC - Entrepreneurship Program, and the CTIA Wireless Internet Caucus. Omar is an entrepreneur with deep roots in the mobile industry. After earning a degree in Computer Science at UCLA, Omar founded and ran several... companies in mobile software and services. At the time, he was frustrated by the lack of available options when it came to promoting and monetizing mobile products. Omar realized that mobile service and content firms needed better ways to advertise and make money on the mobile Web. While earning his MBA at the Wharton School, Omar began to think more seriously about the untapped potential of mobile advertising, and created AdMob to address this growing opportunity. Maynard Webb served as chief operating officer at eBay, Inc. from June 2002 to August 2006 and was responsible for the company-wide implementation of... all business strategies. Previously, Maynard served as president of eBay technologies from 1999 - 2002. In this role, he was responsible for all engineering and technical operations at eBay, which included product strategy, technology strategy, engineering, architecture, site operations and customer support. Prior to joining eBay, he was senior vice president and chief information officer at Gateway, Inc., where he contributed to Gateway's rapid expansion and Internet-enabled business operations. In years prior he has also worked at Quantum, Thomas Conrad, Figgie International, and IBM. Maynard received his Bachelor of Arts from Florida Atlantic University.
