Advance Wars is a turn-based tactics video game developed for the Game Boy Advance by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo in 2001. It was released in the USA on September 9, 2001, but put on...
Turn-based strategy game from the makers of Fire Emblem, Intelligent Systems. Players assume command of an army that's out to reclaim a world that's been broken up by warring factions. The battle map is essentially a grid, and moving units is like moving chess pieces on a board -- each of the units can move a specific amount of spaces within this grid, and can only attack at a certain distance from specific enemies. Advance Wars features more than 115 maps, a map editor, head-to-head play via link cable, and an easy-to-understand tutorial mode for beginners.
Deep and easy to learn, and it contains a level of replay rarely witnessed in handheld gaming.
Incredibly intense and amazingly addictive...especially when you learn every little nuance of the game design.
