The Major League Baseball (MLB) batting average championship is awarded annually to the player in each league who has the highest batting average. The baseball players on this list struck dread in every pitcher who crossed their path. In order to make this list, players had to play at least 1,000 games and at-bats and the average is calculated from ratio of hits to at-bats.
