The Allen Event Center is a 6,275 fixed-seat multi-purpose arena located in Allen, Texas, United States, a suburb of Dallas. It opened on November 6,... 2009. It hosts the home games of the Central Hockey League's Allen Americans and it hosts the home games of the Indoor Football League's Allen Wranglers. Beginning in November 2012, it will serve as the home arena for the relaunched Dallas Sidekicks of the Professional Arena Soccer League. The arena opened along with the entire "Village at Allen" power center on November 6, 2009. Reba McEntire played a concert that night to open the arena. Other events, including monster truck racing, appeared over the course of 2010.

Carly Rae Patterson is an American singer and former gymnast. She is the 2004 Olympic All-Around Champion and a member of the USA Gymnastics Hall of... Fame. She currently lives in Allen, Texas. Patterson was at her cousin's birthday party at Baton Rouge's Elite Gymnastics club in 1994 when coach Johnny Moyal, a three-time Israeli Olympian, noticed her talent and suggested that she begin to take lessons. Originally, her mother was hesitant about it, but Carly started tumbling and jumping around her house. There was not much room, and as her mom did not want her to get hurt, she enrolled her in gymnastics. In 2000, Patterson participated in the Top Gym Tournament in Belgium and won the silver medal in the all-around and the bronze medal for balance beam, her favorite event. At the 2001 Goodwill Games in Brisbane, Australia, she was ranked second in the all-around before the final rotation. She missed three landings on the floor exercise, however, and finished seventh overall. "I don't know what happened," she said. "I can't give up, I will keep going. I was happy with my first three rotations, especially beam.

Matthew Jerome "Matt" Barr is an American television and film actor. He is best known for his roles as Mike Fleming in Commander in Chief, Ian Banks... in One Tree Hill, Christopher Sullivan in the mystery horror series Harper's Island, and Dan Patch in The CW series Hellcats. Matthew Jerome Barr was born on February 14, 1984 in Allen, Texas, United States. He was active in the Allen High School theater program, and had major roles in many school plays and musical theater productions. This included the role of Tommy in Meredith Wilson's The Music Man, and a court jester in the school's madrigal dinner. Barr was also working on the film "Levelland" while in his senior year. Some of Barr's roles include playing Ian Banks, Peyton Sawyer's stalker on One Tree Hill. Barr has also portrayed guest and recurring roles on popular television series ER, Bones, The O.C. and Commander in Chief. He starred in Saving the King as the King's brother. Barr appeared in the 2008 film The House Bunny as Tyler, one of the university's students.

Antonio Margil de Jesús was known to be the first person to use the name in a letter to the Viceroy of Mexico in July 20, 1716. The name was not popularly used in daily speech but often appeared in legal documents until the end of the 1800s.
