Another World

Anna Kathryn Holbrook is an American soap opera actress, best known for her role as Sharlene Frame Hudson on Another World, a role she played originally from 1988 to 1991. She returned from 1993 to 1997 and again in 1999. An interesting fact about the circumstances of Holbrook's hiring is that she... was picked not only for her dramatic aptitude, but also for her ability to look much older than she was; the character of Sharlene was a plain farm girl and Holbrook proved she could act in the appropriate manner. She was subsequently paired with an actor on the program, David Forsyth, who was nine years older than she was. The first actress to play her daughter on the show, Alexandra Wilson, was only six years younger than Holbrook herself. Alexandra Wilson was replaced by Amy Carlson in 1993. She won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress award for her role as Sharlene in 1996. Holbrook has appeared in numerous guest starring roles on Law and Order and Law and Order SVU. Appeared in the film "I Love Trouble" with Nick Nolte. She has also appeared in off Broadway and regional theater.

Larkin Douglass Watson III was an American actor. Before an acting career, he received two Purple Heart awards for his service in World War II. A character actor since 1950, his most notable roles were in the movies Julius Caesar , Sayonara , and The Money Pit . He was also an acclaimed actor on... the New York stage, acting in several Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, including the 1952 Broadway revival of Desire Under the Elms by Eugene O'Neill. In addition, he played on such daytime dramatic dramas as Moment of Truth , Search for Tomorrow , and Love of Life . On Another World, Watson portrayed Mackenzie "Mac" Cory; the second actor to play the role, he had replaced Robert Emhardt. Watson earned the Another World role after a critically acclaimed turn playing Kent in King Lear at the 1974 New York Shakespeare Festival. He won two Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Actor, in 1980 and 1981. He was under contract at the time of his 1989 death from a heart attack at the age of 68 while on vacation in Arizona. His character on the show also died shortly afterward.

Dano next portrayed romance novelist Felicia Gallant on Another World from 1982 until the show's cancellation on June 25, 1999, her performance winning her the Daytime Emmy Award for Lead Actress in 1993. She was also nominated for Leading Actress Emmys in 1994 and 1996, and for Supporting Actress in 1992. On June 28, 1999, Dano returned to One Life to Live as Gretel, now calling herself "Rae" Cummings.

Among other soap roles, he is best known for his role as reformed villain Carl Hutchins on the American soap opera Another World from 1983 to 1985, and again from 1991 to 1998 with a final appearance in 1999. After the show's demise, he returned to stage acting and to Shakespeare, most notably in a two-person show with AW actress Victoria Wyndham. He had also had a role as a professor at a Caribbean medical school which catered to Americans in the short-lived ABC sitcom, Going to Extremes, as well as a guest role on Sex and the City, in which he played an artist obsessed with painting "cunts".
