Erbil Province or Governorate is one of the provinces of Iraq, located in the autonomous Kurdistan Region. It derives its name from the city of Erbil, which is also its capital. The province of Erbil covers an area of 15,074 square kilometres in the north of Iraq, with an estimated population of 1,314,000 people.
