Beard–Eaves–Memorial Coliseum is a 10,500-seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. The arena,... which opened in 1969, is best known as the former home of the Auburn men's and women's basketball and women's gymnastics teams. The teams finished their stays at the facility at the end of the 2009–10 season, with all of its tenants moving into the new Auburn Arena opening in time for the 2010–11 season. The coliseum continues to house athletics offices as well as classrooms and office space for Auburn's department of kinesiology. The building's exterior is primarily nondescript concrete, but its entry plaza is recognizable for the large "War Eagle" statue which also faces not only the rest of the university, but also nearby Jordan-Hare Stadium. The building was approved by the state legislature in 1965 to replace the Auburn Sports Arena, a small on-campus building in use from 1946 until the building of the Coliseum. The state supplied the majority of the funds, with the federal government, the University and an athletics department pledge drive making up the rest of the $6,033,597 needed.

Duck Samford Stadium is a stadium in Auburn, Alabama. It is primarily used for American football and soccer, and is the home field of the Auburn High... School Tigers. Duck Samford Stadium was constructed in 1968, and seats 8,310 spectators. The field is named after James Drake "Duck" Samford, a former Auburn University football player and longtime supporter of youth athletics in Auburn who donated the land for the facility. Plans for constructing a stadium to replace Felton Little Park—which had served as Auburn High School's home field since 1949—on the site now occupied by Duck Samford Stadium began in 1964. On March 23, 1965, James "Duck" Samford donated the 40.2-acre site to the City of Auburn. In May 1967, the Auburn City Schools agreed to a ten-year lease of the proposed stadium, which the city of Auburn constructed the following year for $1.1 million. The stadium opened on October 25, 1968 with an Auburn High School loss to Lanett High School, 14-13; the first home win at the venue came three weeks later against arch-rival Opelika High School, 41-0. The original seating consisted of what is today the home stands, and seated 3,986.

The Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church is a structure on the National Register of Historic Places in Auburn, Alabama. Ebenezer Baptist Church was the... first African American church built in the Auburn area after the end of the Civil War in 1865. That year, a plantation owner donated the property on which the church sits to one of his former slaves. Over the next few years, the church members built the church out of hand-hewn logs, transported from miles away by mules. The church was completed around 1870 and served the Ebenezer congregation until 1969. The building was restored in 1970 by the Auburn Heritage Association, and currently houses the Auburn Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. The Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 21, 1975, and is located at 450 E. Thach Avenue in Auburn.

Ross Field was an American football and baseball field located in Auburn, Alabama, United States from 1921 until 1998. It was the home field of the... Auburn High School Tigers football team from 1921 until 1935. Ross Field was named for Bennett Battle Ross, Jr., an Auburn High School alumnus who was Dean of Chemistry and acting president of the Alabama Polytechnic Institute who had worked to bring county flagship status to Auburn High in 1914. Ross Field was the first on-campus stadium for Auburn High School; previous football teams had shared Drake Field with the Auburn University football team. From 1929 onward, the field was sometimes known as Mitchell Field. By the mid-1930s, Ross Field had grown too small to accommodate football crowds, and Auburn High games were moved back to Drake Field. When the former high school campus was transferred to the city of Auburn as a community center in the 1950s, the field was used as a community football and baseball field, and by the 1980s was being used only as a baseball field. The Jan Dempsey Community Arts Center was built on the site of Ross Field in 1998.

Brad Cotter is an American country music singer who won the 2004 season of Nashville Star a talent competition on the USA Network. Signed to Epic... Records that year, he released his debut album Patient Man, which produced three singles on the Billboard country charts, including the #35 "I Meant To". An independent EP, Continuity, followed in 2007. Born in Opelika, Alabama, Cotter trained with Jerry Redd, who had performed with Elvis Presley and the gospel music group The Stamps Quartet. His first public performance was at the age of nine in a church in Columbus, Georgia. He recorded five gospel records in the next eight years, and was voted the "top child Gospel soloist in America". He dropped out of performing in his late teen years, then returned to music in Auburn, where he joined the group Silverado. Cotter left Silverado in 1993 and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he tried to get work as a solo act and a songwriter, landing cuts by Tommy Shane Steiner and Chad Brock, in addition to recording demos. He later competed on and won Nashville Star, then signed to a recording contract with Epic Records.

Focusing on expanding the limited repertory for solo viola, she wrote and transcribed many... works for that instrument, including Sergei Rachmaninoff's Cello Sonata and Johann Sebastian Bach's Cello Suites for viola. She founded the New York Viola Society in 1992. Glyde was born in Auburn, Alabama in 1948 to Edgar Glyde, a violist on faculty at the Alabama Polytechnic Institute, and Dorothy Glyde, a cellist. Glyde was trained as soprano and violinist, studying under her father, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, from the age of four. While a student at Auburn High School, she was concert mistress of the Sewanee Summer Music Center Orchestra, studying with Julius Hegyi. Before her graduation from Auburn High in 1966, she was offered a scholarship to The Hartt School to train under Raphael Bronstein, with whom she continued training at the Manhattan School of Music. She began her master's work at the Juilliard School under Dorothy DeLay, but switched to viola and moved into the doctoral program studying with Lillian Fuchs.
