Red Star Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Belgrade, Serbia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Red Star... Belgrade. The stadium is all-seated and the capacity is 55,538. A sold-out Red Star Stadium has always been known as a very tough ground for visitors. The first football stadium in this location was constructed in 1927. It was the stadium of SK Jugoslavija. It consisted of a 30,000 capacity stadium with grass pitch, athletic track, training facility and club house. SK Jugoslavija played its matches on the stadium until the end of the Second World War when the club was disbanded by the new Yugoslav authorities. The ground was signed over to the newly founded club Red Star Belgrade. On 27 December 1959, Red Star played its last match at the old ground. FK Novi Sad was the opposition in a farewell game at the dilapidated arena. Together with the crumbling facility, a part of football history had left as well.

Hala sportova is a multi-purpose sports arena located in Belgrade municipality of New Belgrade. The venue's actual name is "Palata sportova" , but... it is widely known by its informal title - Hala. It was built and opened during 1968. Since 1979 it functions as part of publicly owned New Belgrade Sports and Business Center . Nearby sports and recreation center "11. April" is also included under its umbrella. Hala seats up to 5,000 people for sporting events and up to 7,000 for musical events. In November 2010, the renovation of Hala was announced for 2011. The new-look renovated venue was presented in late August 2011. Hala sportova served as home floor for many Belgrade-based sports teams. The most prominent of them all was Partizan basketball club, which played its home games here from 1970 until 1990. During this time, famous Partizan players like Dragan Kićanović, Dražen Dalipagić, Vlade Divac, Aleksandar Sasha Đorđević, Predrag Danilović and Žarko Paspalj graced Hala's floor.

It is located in Belgrade's municipality of Stari Grad. Belgrade Fortress was declared Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1979, and it is protected by Republic of Serbia. Belgrade Fortress is located on top of the 125.5 meters high ending ridge of Šumadija geological bar. The cliff-like ridge overlooks the Great War Island and the confluence of the Sava river into the Danube, and makes one of the most beautiful natural lookouts in Belgrade. It borders the neighborhoods of Dorćol , Stari Grad and Kosančićev Venac . It is encircled by three streets: Boulevard of Vojvoda Bojović, Tadeuša Košćuška, Pariska, and the railway along the riverside.

Borivoje "Bora" Todorović is a Serbian actor. His sister is the famous actress, Mira Stupica, and father of Srđan Todorović. Bora... Todorović has an extensive acting career, and has had roles in critically acclaimed Yugoslavian films such as Who's That Singing Over There , The Marathon Family , Balkan Express , Balkanski Špijun , Time of the Gypsies , and Underground . Bora's father died during his childhood. Following secondary school, Bora completed army service, at which point he had no plans to pursue an acting career. However, his older sister Mira's passion for acting exposed him to the business and soon he became passionate about it as well. He enrolled in the Belgrade Drama Arts Academy, and eventually acted on stage at the Belgrade Drama Theatre. In 1957, Bora lived and acted in Zagreb, eventually returning to Belgrade in 1961. Between 1961 and 1983, Bora was a member of the "Atelje 212" theater in Belgrade, where he performed various roles.

Bebi Dol is a Serbian female pop singer and performer. Her name is a deliberate corruption of the English Baby Doll, which she also uses in some... countries to credit her records. She started her musical activity during the late 1970s, in a band called Tarkus. By 1979, she hooked up with media artist Goran Vejvoda, and drummer Ivan "Vd" Vdović to form a short-lived act, named Annoda Rouge, which never recorded any official releases. During the late 1979 she made her first studio recordings as a guest vocalist on the Igra staklenih perli album Vrt svetlosti released in 1980 by PGP RTB. She turned to solo career and, in collaboration with Vejvoda , soon released a 7-inch single, "Mustafa" / "Na planeti uzdaha" for PGP RTB, which immediately got a lot of attention.

Jelena Janković or Jelena Jankovic is a former World No. 1 professional tennis player from Serbia. She reached the final of the 2008 US Open and... won the 2007 Wimbledon Mixed Doubles title. Janković is ranked world no. 21, being coached by the former Dinara Safina coach, Željko Krajan. Janković was born in Belgrade, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia, as the third child of Veselin and Snežana, both economists.. She has two brothers, Marko and Stefan. She is a student at the Megatrend University in Belgrade, studying economics; however, she has put her course of study on indefinite hold as she continues to pursue her tennis career. Janković learned her first tennis skills at the Tennis Club 'Red Star'. As a nine-and-a-half year old she was introduced to tennis by her elder brother and fitness coach Marko. With 11 years has won the national championship in the competition to 12 years. She was later trained at the Tennis Academy of Nick Bollettieri. As a junior she won the 2001 Australian Open and junior no. 1 in the world.

Pavle Vuisić was a Serbian actor, known as one of the most recognisable faces of former Yugoslav cinema. Pavle Vuisić was born in... Belgrade. He studied law and worked as a journalist for Radio Belgrade before getting a small role in 1950 film Čudotvorni mač. After that he tried to become a professional actor, but failed to enroll in Drama Arts Academy in Belgrade. His first major role was in 1955 film Šolaja. He was never a star, but he quickly established himself as one of the most dependable and versatile character actors. In his long and prolific career he played many different roles, both dramatic and comical, and earned great respect from almost any director with whom he worked. He is arguably best known for his role in 1972 TV series Kamiondžije , where he was paired with comedian Miodrag Petrović Čkalja. One of the acting awards in Serbia is named after him.

Srđan Dragojević is a Serbian film director and screenwriter, who emerged in the 1990s as a significant figure in Serbian cinema. Since... 2010, he has been a member of the Socialist Party of Serbia's main board. Born to a journalist father who headed a state-owned Belgrade-based newspaper and a French translator mother, Dragojević described himself as "the child of middle-level communist nomenklatura in Serbia". In his early youth, Dragojević played with the punk/new wave band called TV Moroni. He also dabbled in journalism, writing for Polet and Start magazines. He obtained a degree in clinical psychology from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Philosophy. In 1987 he started studying film and TV direction at the University of Arts' Faculty of Dramatic Arts under the tutelage of Bajo Šaranović and got another degree. In parallel, Dragojević was active in poetry, publishing a book of poems called Knjiga akcione poezije in 1986 and winning Branko's Award for it.

Jelena Dokić is an Australian female professional tennis player. During the height of her career, she played for Serbia and Montenegro and... reached a career-high ranking of World No. 4 on 19 August 2002. After several family-related difficulties , she slowly slipped down the rankings in 2006. She made a serious return to tennis in 2008, and after winning three ITF tournaments that year, rose to World No. 187 going into the 2009 Australian Open. She finished 2009 in the top 100, but declined in 2010. Her 2011 season has seen a resurgence in Dokić's form and abilities. The highlights of Dokić's career include reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon and the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and reaching the quarterfinals at the French Open in 2002 and the Australian Open in 2009. Other highlights include beating several former World No. 1 players: Martina Hingis in the first round of Wimbledon in 1999, Venus Williams at the 2000 Italian Open and Kim Clijsters at the 2003 Zürich Open.

She is a great-great-granddaughter of Karađorđe, who started the first Serbian uprising against the Turks in 1804. A businesswoman and writer, she is the author of four storybooks for children and she has created two perfumes- "Jelisaveta" and "E".
