Ben Lee

Gerling were an alternative guitar and electronic act from Australia. They formed in 1993, and are based in Sydney. The band formed in 1993 with the... line-up of Darren Cross , Presser and Brad Herdson . With an instrumentation of only two guitars and drums, the group initially focussed on creating experimental guitar pop, with their debut release, Sedatives For Dead Radars, being released in 1995 on Steve Pavlovic's Fellaheen label. This was followed by the mini-album, A Day of Research, in 1996. Early 1997 saw the departure of guitarist Brad Herdson, who would go onto form Sonic Emotion Explosion with Liz Payne from Spdfgh. He was temporarily replaced by Ben Lee for their show at the Sydney Big Day Out, before a permanent replacement came in the way of Canadian Burke Reid. February 1998 saw the band emerge from the studio with the 7" single "Bachelor Pad" on the Trifekta label. November of that year, saw the release of the album, Children of Telepathic Experiences, on Festival's in-house indie label Reliant - setup by former Au Go Go Records head, Bruce Milne.

The Bens was a rock supergroup consisting of Ben Folds, Ben Kweller and Ben Lee when they toured and recorded as a group for their The Bens Rock Over... Australia tour in 2003. They toured Australia, playing nine concerts, in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Newcastle and Surfers Paradise. A tenth at a Melbourne shopping centre was cancelled. Lee, Folds and Kweller would play individual sets at each concert, but at the beginning and end of each one, all three would play several songs as a band. Two performances were recorded live for the Live at the Wireless and Live at the Basement radio series. They recorded a four-track EP, which was initially only sold at venues, but was some months later released in Australia and overseas. Several live tracks from the two radio recordings were included on the Japanese release. One track from the original EP, "Just Pretend", made it into the Triple J Hottest 100, 2003. In 2003, they also contributed a track, "Wicked Little Town", to Wig in a Box, a tribute album to the Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

The Frogs are an American rock music band founded in 1980, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, by brothers Jimmy and Dennis Flemion. The brothers mainly write... and perform short, catchy pop songs, but they are also known for their improvised home recordings which are delivered in a comedic style, and often include controversial issues such as race, religion, and sexuality . A history of strife has hindered the band, although a devoted fan base that includes many well-known musicians has supported the group. Brothers Jimmy Flemion and Dennis Flemion began playing as the "Gila Monsters" and "Stupid Frogs" in 1980, frequenting Milwaukee clubs and coffeehouses. In 1983, bassist Jay Tiller joined the group. That same year, Jimmy began wearing what was to become his trademark stage gimmick, a pair of six-foot bat wings, inspired by the band's set list, which at that time featured many glam rock songs about death and gloom. Soon the brothers also began wearing wigs at their performances, and using pyrotechnics. Hence, "wings and wigs" became synonymous with the band.
