Pros:
Fascinating characters. A satisfying introduction to the characters of Lynley and Havers.
Cons:
Gruesome, disturbing mystery. Not as good as her later novels.

Review: Not great by itself, but there are some awesome books in this series, and this book gives a good foundation for understanding the characters.

Pros:
An extremely good first novel.
Cons:
Gets a bit too plot heavy, and I kept feeling I was missing something.

Review: A bit too much of too much for a first novel, but still a good story, with plenty of depth and twists.
