Riverview at Hobson Grove, also known as Riverview or as Hobson House, is an historic home with classic Italianate architecture located in western... Bowling Green, Kentucky. Restored as representative of the Victorian period, the house played a part in Civil War activities in the area and is the centerpiece of Hobson Grove Park. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. Riverview at Hobson Grove was built as the home of Atwood Gaines Hobson and his wife Juliet "Julia" van Meter Hobson on a small promontory and was named because of its proximity to the Barren River. Construction on the house started in the 1850s, but was halted due to the outbreak of the Civil War. Because Atwood Hobson was a staunch Union supporter and his eldest son, William, had been made a Colonel in the Union Army, the family was concerned about this property. The commanding officer of the Confederate troops, Simon Bolivar Buckner, who had fought with Atwood’s brother, Edward, in the Mexican-American War, agreed to spare the partially built house.

Houchens Industries – L. T. Smith Stadium at Jimmy Feix Field is a 22,000-seat multi-purpose stadium in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It is home to... the Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers football team. The facility was expanded to a seating capacity of 22,000 in a project that was completed in 2008. This was planned to prepare for the Hilltoppers' move to the highest level of NCAA football competition, Division I FBS , completed in 2009. However, the facility remains one of the smallest stadiums in the FBS. When the stadium was built in 1968 it seated 19,250 fans. A 1989 renovation reduced the seating capacity to 17,500 seats. Lights were installed in 1987 and an Astroplay playing surface was installed in 2002. Smith Stadium has been the site of marching band competitions, high school football games, the university's graduation ceremonies and the Special Olympics. Starting in 2009, it became the site of Kentucky's high school football championship games. On July 19, 2007, WKU reported that Houchens Industries, a long-time corporate supporter of WKU, made a $5 million commitment to an expansion and renovation project for the school’s football stadium.

Van Meter Hall is a building on the campus of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Constructed in 1911, it was added to the... National Register of Historic Places on December 18, 1979. Van Meter Hall was the first building constructed on the campus of Western Kentucky University. It was also the first building on the campus designed by Louisville architect Brinton B. Davis, nicknamed the "hill builder" due to his vast work designing the majority of the university layout from 1909 until 1939. The building, completed in 1911, is designed to look like the Acropolis's Erechtheion Temple. The most notable feature of the structure was a 1,600 seat auditorium for hosting concerts and public events, but Van Meter also contained office space. It was named for Captain Charles J. Van Meter, a local riverboat captain and developer. Today Van Meter Hall houses the office of Campus and Community Events.

The Hines House is an historic building in Bowling Green, Kentucky, placed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 18, 1979. It was... built by and for the Reverend James Davis Hines around the year 1840. Hines eventually sold the building to a N.E.Goodsall, Goodsall's heirs sold the house in 1859 to Doctor Albert Covington. It is one of the few houses left in Bowling Green of that age and structure.

Jon Roger Davis is an American actor and entrepreneur. The sandy-haired Davis is best known for his boyish good looks, and lilting, Henry Fonda-like... voice. He came to fame in such television series as Dark Shadows and Alias Smith and Jones. Davis was born in Louisville, Kentucky. Davis first appeared on television in 1962. He portrayed Pvt. Roger Gibson in the ABC television series The Gallant Men. In 1963, he co-starred with Richard Egan in the NBC Western drama Redigo, which was the renamed second season of the previous Empire television series, both set on a ranch in New Mexico. In 1964, Davis also appeared in one episode of The Twilight Zone, the episode was Spur of the Moment and co-starred Diana Hyland. From 1968-71, Davis garnered attention playing multiple characters on the daytime gothic soap opera, Dark Shadows. On Dark Shadows, he played Peter Bradford, Jeff Clark, Ned Stuart, Dirk Wilkins, and Charles Delaware Tate. In 1971, Davis narrated the voice-over theme sequence for the western series Alias Smith and Jones, starring Pete Duel as Hannibal Heyes/Joshua Smith and Ben Murphy as Kid Curry/Thaddeus Jones.

Benjamin Ray "Ben" Bailey is an American comedian, licensed taxi cab driver, and Emmy Award winning former game show host and executive producer for... Discovery Channel's Cash Cab in New York City. Bailey was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and raised in Chatham, New Jersey. He attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, before moving to Los Angeles in 1993. Standing at 6 feet 6 inches, he was offered a job as a bouncer for a comedy club after bumming a cigarette from a man in a parking lot. According to Bailey, he was telling stories with some comedians after hours when Lil Farrington found his stories humorous and offered him an opportunity at stand-up. He was the host of the American version of Cash Cab, a TV game show played in a taxicab that Bailey drives around New York City, broadcast on the Discovery Channel. He also recently made an appearance on the new Shovio.com's TalkBackTV. Bailey narrates the Discovery Channel's series Smash Lab. As of December 19, 2011, he is the host of Who's Still Standing? game show on NBC.

Sam Bush is an American bluegrass mandolin player considered an originator of the Newgrass style. Sam Bush was exposed to country and bluegrass... music at an early age through his father Charlie's record collection, and later by the Flatt & Scruggs television show. Buying his first mandolin at the age of 11, his musical interest was further piqued when he attended the inaugural Roanoke, VA Bluegrass Festival in 1965. As a teen Bush took first place three times in the junior division of the National Oldtime Fiddler's Contest in Weiser, ID. He joined guitarist Wayne Stewart, his mentor and music teacher during Sam's teen years, and banjoist Alan Munde and the three recorded an instrumental album, Poor Richard's Almanac, in 1969. In the spring of 1970, Bush attended the Fiddlers Convention at Union Grove, NC, and was inspired by the rock-flavored progressive bluegrass of the New Deal String Band. Later that year, he moved to Louisville and joined the Bluegrass Alliance. In the fall of 1971, the band dissolved and reformed as the New Grass Revival.
