Brandon Samuel Bass is an American professional basketball player with the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association . A 6'8", 250 lb power forward from LSU, Bass was selected by the Hornets in the 2nd round of the 2005 NBA Draft. He originally declared for the draft after his freshman season in 2004 but ultimately withdrew his name and returned to college. In 2005, he again declared for the draft after his sophomore season at LSU, where he was named the 2005 SEC Player of the Year. Bass prepped at Capitol High School in Baton Rouge where he was one of the most sought-after... recruits in the country his senior year. On July 26, 2007, Bass agreed to sign with the Dallas Mavericks. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. He signed through the 2008-09 season with a $1.59 million contract. On July 10, 2009, Bass signed a contract with the Orlando Magic. He was traded to the Boston Celtics in December 2011 for Glen Davis and Von Wafer. In his first regular season game with Boston, Bass played 28 minutes, scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a loss to the New York Knicks on Christmas Day 2011.
