Brett Gurewitz

Bad Religion is a punk rock band that formed in Los Angeles in 1979. Their current line-up consists of Greg Graffin , Brett Gurewitz , Jay Bentley ,... Greg Hetson , Brian Baker and Brooks Wackerman . Gurewitz is also the founder of the label Epitaph Records, which has released almost all of the band's albums. They are often credited for being involved in the revival of punk rock and inspiring several subsequent punk bands during the late 1980s, as well as influencing a large number of other punk and rock musicians throughout their career. Bad Religion is also particularly known for their use of soaring 3-part vocal harmonies , sophisticated and intellectual lyrics, and political or religious commentary. Their lyrics often relate to matters of social responsibility. The band's original line-up featured Bentley on bass, Graffin on vocals, Gurewitz on guitar, and Jay Ziskrout on drums. Ziskrout left in 1981, while Bad Religion was in the middle of writing and recording their debut album How Could Hell Be Any Worse?, and was replaced by Pete Finestone.

Error is an electro-hardcore band founded in 2003 by 12 Rounds member and Nine Inch Nails collaborator Atticus Ross, and Bad Religion guitarist Brett... Gurewitz. Since the 2004 release of their self-titled EP, the project has been on hiatus. According to a Metal Hammer article on the band; "Error came about when Atticus realised his cocking about in the studio had produced something along the lines of actual songs." Atticus recruited his younger brother Leopold Ross to play drums and Bad Religion member and Epitaph Records owner Brett Gurewitz to play guitar and bass. He also recruited Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato to perform vocals on their first release, but he is only considered to be a temporary member. The band released its first record, a self-titled EP, in 2004. The EP feature's The Locust's keyboardist Joey Karam playing a Moog synthesizer on the track "Jack The Ripper". Prior to the EP's release, Error released a song on Punk-O-Rama 8 in 2003 entitled "Transplant/Quick Death ".

Atlantic Records is an American record label best known for its many recordings of rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and jazz. Over its first 20 years of operation Atlantic earned a reputation as one of the most important American independent recording labels, specializing in jazz, R&B and soul... recordings by African-American artists, a position greatly enhanced by its distribution deal with Stax Records. In 1967 Atlantic became a wholly owned subsidiary of Warner Bros.-Seven Arts, now the Warner Music Group, and expanded into rock and pop music, signing Cream, Led Zeppelin, Yes and Foreigner. In 2004 Atlantic Records and its sister label Elektra Records merged into Atlantic Records Group. Craig Kallman is currently Chairman of Atlantic Records. Label co-founder Ahmet Ertegün served as Founding Chairman until his death on December 14, 2006 at age 83. The label also has a number of deals with previously independent labels such as Must Destroy and VP Records in Jamaica, home to reggae artists such as Sean Paul.
