Fripp & Eno is an ambient musical side project composed of Brian Eno and Robert Fripp. The duo have released four studio albums. The album... Headcandy was also essentially a collaboration between the two, though credited just to Eno. The music created by this pair is entirely instrumental and has earned mixed critical acclaim. Each release has made extensive use of Frippertronics combined with Fripp's electronic guitar along with Eno playing various keyboards and synthesizers.

801 were an English experimental rock band that were originally formed in 1976 for three live concerts by In 1976, while Roxy Music had temporarily... disbanded, 801 got together as a temporary project and began rehearsing at Island Studios, Hammersmith, about three weeks before their first gig. The name of the band was taken from the Eno song "The True Wheel", which appears on his 1974 solo album Taking Tiger Mountain . The refrain of the song -- "We are the 801, we are the central shaft" -- reportedly came to him in a dream . 801 performed three critically highly acclaimed concerts: in Norfolk, at the Reading Festival and the final concert on 3 September at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall. This last concert was recorded live and released as the album 801 Live. The music consisted of more or less mutated selections from albums by Manzanera, Eno, and Quiet Sun, plus a full-scale rearrangement of Lennon-McCartney's "Tomorrow Never Knows" and an off-the-wall excursion into The Kinks' 1964 hit "You Really Got Me".

Harmonia is a Krautrock supergroup from Germany. They formed as a collaboration between Michael Rother of Neu! and Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter... Möbius of Cluster and later included the British musician Brian Eno. As two-thirds of the original group were the entirety of Cluster, the first album, Musik Von Harmonia, leaned more towards that band's ambient-tinged rock than Neu's Motorik rock. The second album Deluxe had much stronger beats and a more Motorik and arguably more commercial sound. With the addition of Brian Eno for the 1976 recording sessions the third album, Tracks and Traces, was again more ambient in style. In 1971 the duo of Moebius and Roedelius, also known as Cluster, moved to the rural village of Forst, West Germany. Michael Rother put his project Neu! on hold in early 1973 to form the band Harmonia with Roedelius and Moebius. Together they built their own studio in Forst and recorded two albums under the name Harmonia: Musik Von Harmonia in 1974 and Deluxe in 1975, both released on Brain. Musician, writer, and rock historian Julian Cope places both albums in his Krautrock Top 50.

E.G. Records was a UK-based artist management company and independent record label, mostly active during the 1970s and 1980s. The initials stand for its founders, David Enthoven and John Gaydon. The pair signed on as managers of King Crimson in early 1969, during the formative stage of the band and... prior to the release of debut In the Court of the Crimson King. They also signed to management T. Rex, Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Roxy Music. Gaydon left in 1971 and Enthoven in 1977. Sam Alder and Mark Fenwick reformed the label several years later, rereleasing material from King Crimson, in addition to others such as Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Brian Eno, Killing Joke, Loose Tubes, Human Chain, Man Jumping, Iain Ballamy, Earthworks, and U.K. The label has been distributed by Island Records and then Polydor Records. In the US, artists were placed on Atlantic Records, Warner Bros. Records, Polydor Records, Passport/Jem Records, and Virgin Records and in various other labels in other parts of the world. Alder and Fenwick were investors in Lloyd's of London, and suffered financially as a result of its major losses in the early 1990s.

Rykodisc Records is an American record label. It is owned by Warner Music Group, operates as a unit of WMG's Independent Label Group and is distributed through Alternative Distribution Alliance. Claiming to be the first CD-only independent record label in the United States, Rykodisc was founded in... 1983 in Salem, Massachusetts, by Arthur Mann, Rob Simonds, Doug Lexa and Don Rose. In the late 1980s, the label also began to issue high-quality cassette and vinyl versions of many releases under the name Ryko Analogue. Rykodisc had some notable successes in the CD-reissue industry, as artists such as Elvis Costello, David Bowie, Yoko Ono, Frank Zappa, Nick Drake, Nine Inch Nails, Robert Wyatt, and Mission of Burma allowed Rykodisc to issue their catalogs on CD. Rykodisc still retains the rights to the Zappa catalog. Rykodisc also re-released the SST Records-era recordings by the Meat Puppets. Over the years the label has acquired Hannibal Records, Tradition Records, Gramavision Records, Emperor Norton Records, Restless Records and, most recently, Cordless Recordings. Rykodisc also founded a distribution company, Ryko Distribution, and a music publishing company, Rykomusic.
