Buford is a city in Gwinnett and Hall counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 12,225. Buford is part of the Atlanta–Sandy Springs–Marietta, GA-AL Metropolitan Statistical Area. Buford is located at 34°7′1″N 83°59′55″W / 34.11694°N 83.99861°W / 34.11694; -83.99861 . According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 14.8 square miles , of which, 14.7 square miles of it is land and 0.1 square miles of it is water.
