Busta Rhymes

Leaders of the New School was a Long Island, New York-based hip hop crew. The crew was composed of Uniondale, New York, natives Charlie Brown and... Dinco D ; North Amityville, New York native Cut Monitor Milo ; and Busta Rhymes , who was originally from Brooklyn, New York but later moved to Uniondale. The crew's big break was when they became an opening act for hip hop group Public Enemy. Public Enemy's Chuck D gave Busta Rhymes and Charlie Brown their stage names. The group made its first appearance on an Elektra Records compilation titled Rubáiyát: Elektra's 40th Anniversary, with a song called "Mt. Airy Groove". It was the only hip hop group on that album. LONS soon joined up with popular hip hop collective the Native Tongues, along with the Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, and Black Sheep. In 1991 Busta Rhymes, Dinco D, and Charlie Brown made a guest appearance on A Tribe Called Quest's hit single "Scenario", and LONS joined ATCQ on The Arsenio Hall Show to perform the track with that group. Their debut album A Future Without a Past was also released in 1991.

Conglomerate Records is a record label founded by hip hop artist Busta Rhymes that operates as a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. Originally founded in 1994 as Flipmode Entertainment, the name Conglomerate Records was adoted in 2011. In 2006, the label jointly released Busta Rhymes's The Big... Bang with Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. Busta Rhymes and his group are now signed to Universal Motown after fatal fallout with Interscope Records. Since 2011, Flipmode is known as Conglomerate. Soon after the Elektra Records deal was done, Busta obtained his own label which was to serve as an imprint to the label. At the time his friend, Rah Digga, was signing to Elektra along with another friend of his, Rampage. Elektra would allow Busta to sign these acts to his Flipmode Entertainment. Under the terms of the deal, Busta was responsible for putting their albums together and they would fund, promote and distribute the releases from the label. The first release from Flipmode was Busta Rhymes's The Coming, which came in 1996, during the time that the east coast was beginning to gain popularity again after the rise of the west coast.

Aftermath Entertainment is an American record label founded by Dr. Dre. It operates as a subsidiary of, and is distributed through, Universal Music Group's Interscope Records. Current acts include Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, Slim the Mobster, Kendrick Lamar and Black Hippy, with former acts including... Busta Rhymes, Game, Raekwon, Stat Quo and many others. Violator specializes in managing the careers of hip hop and R&B performers and is also a record label. Included among Violator's past and present clients are Mariah... Carey, Busta Rhymes, Q-Tip, Missy Elliott, Fantasia, Mýa, Diggy Simmons, Cormega, Ja Rule, Mobb Deep, LL Cool J, Nas,JoJo Pellegrino, and 50 Cent.
