Hong Sang-soo is a South Korean film director. Hong's directorial debut, The Day a Pig Fell into the Well , was praised by South Korean critics for... its originality and won international film prizes. His 2010 film Hahaha won the Prix Un Certain Regard at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. His 2012 film In Another Country has been selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. Which marks the eighth time that his works has been featured at Cannes, including The Power of Kangwon Province, which was sceened in the 'Un Certain Regard' category in 1998; Virgin Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors, Tale of Cinema and The Day He Arrives.
