Canton

Canton Viaduct is the oldest blind arcade cavity wall bridge in the world and it was the longest and tallest railroad bridge ever built when it was... completed in 1835. It is the last surviving bridge of its kind and has been in continuous service for 176 years; it now carries high-speed passenger and freight rail service. This hollow bridge in Canton, Massachusetts was built in 1834-35 for the Boston and Providence Railroad Corporation . The bridge is 0.3 miles south of Canton Junction and originally provided mainline service between Boston, Massachusetts, and Providence, Rhode Island. It was the final link to be built on the 41-mile railroad between the two cities. The viaduct is located on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor at milepost 213.74, reckoned from Pennsylvania Station in New York City, and at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's milepost 15.35, reckoned from South Station in Boston. The Canton Viaduct was erected in 1835 by the B&P, one of the first New England railroads, shortly after its 1831 founding. Thomas B. Old Barn is a historic barn off of Blue Hill River Road in Canton, Massachusetts. It was built in 1690 and is the oldest building on Brookwood Farm.... It is currently undergoing a major restoration undertaken by the North Bennet Street School. They have removed the oldest 20-by-20-foot section for major work to repair rot and insect damage. It is expected to be returned to the site in 2010 or 2011. All of the photographs here are of the portions of the barn built after the original barn. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places as Old Barn on September 25, 1980, reference number 80000660.

Brookwood Farm is a historic farm on Blue Hill River Road in Canton, Massachusetts. Some of its fields, but none of the buildings, are in Milton. It... is owned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and managed by the Department of Conservation and Recreation. Its oldest building, the Old Barn was built in 1690. The Cape Cod style house located on the street was built in 1800. The larger house, set about 1,500 feet back from the street, converted from a hunting lodge in 1954, has been considered for a Governor's Mansion. There are also several outbuildings. All of the buildings, except the Old Barn, are suffering from a lack of funding for their upkeep. The farm comprises about 70 acres , about half in woods and the balance in fields. There are three ponds. It is bounded on the south by Route 128 / I-93, on the east by residences, on the west by property owned by Meditech and on the north by Blue Hill River Road . Across Blue Hill River Road is Great Blue Hill. Its historical owner was General Samuel Parker, best known for his role in suppressing the 1919 Boston Police strike.

Paul Guilfoyle is an American television and film actor. He is currently a regular cast member of the forensic television drama CSI: Crime Scene... Investigation where he plays Captain Jim Brass. Guilfoyle was born in Canton, Massachusetts. He attended Boston College High School and spoke at the 2005 commencement of the school's seniors. Guilfoyle enrolled at Lehigh University in 1968. He eventually graduated from Yale in 1977 with a major in economics. He studied at the Actor's Studio before building up a substantial theatrical reputation on and off Broadway, including 12 years with the Theatre Company of Boston, appearances in David Rabe's The Basic Training of Pavlo Hummel with Al Pacino and in David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross. He is often mistakenly referred to as the son of character actor Paul Guilfoyle but they are not related. Guilfoyle appeared in Howard the Duck, and in an early episode of Crime Story, playing a criminal who takes a hostage, getting into a shootout with the Major Crimes Unit. He has since become one of the industry's leading character actors, specializing in roles on both the good and bad side of law enforcement.

William "Bill" Burr is an American stand-up comedian, radio host and actor. Burr was born in Canton, Massachusetts. His father was a dentist, and... Bill worked as a hygienist for a short time. He began stand-up at age 23 after attending Emerson College, where he majored in Radio. He also had a early morning slot on college radio during this period. In 1995, he moved to New York City and lived there for eight months. He then moved to Los Angeles, California, where he worked on a number of film and television projects. He returned to New York in 1999 and moved back to Los Angeles in 2008, where he currently resides. He is 5'10" in height and is left handed. He performs over three hundred shows annually, had two movies released in 2006, and has performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. In early 2004, he appeared in two episodes of Chappelle's Show, and in September 2005, his HBO One Night Stand special aired.
