The network has broadcast this program since 1948, and has used the CBS Evening News title since 1963. The CBS Evening News is currently anchored by Scott Pelley on weekdays. It is broadcast from the CBS Broadcast Center at 524 West 57th Street in New York City. CBS began broadcasting news shows on Saturday nights, expanding to two nights a week in 1947.
