Michigan State University is a public research university in East Lansing, Michigan, USA. The school's nuclear physics, engineering, packaging engineering, political science, business, journalism, education, economics, law and osteopathic medicine programs are among the nation's best. MSU's Division I sports teams are called the Spartans.

Flint is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan, located along the Flint River, 66 miles northwest of Detroit. According to the U.S. Census Bureau in 2010, Flint has a population of 102,434, making it the seventh largest city in Michigan. It is the county seat of Genesee County in the... Flint is best known as the birthplace of General Motors , and also the Flint Sit-Down Strike of 1936–37 that played a vital role in the formation of the United Auto Workers. Flint is also home to the headquarters of Citizens Republic Bancorp. Bishop International Airport is also considered to be part of the city, even though it is surrounded by Flint Township and Mundy Township. The Saginaw Valley, particularly the vicinity of Flint, is considered by some to be the oldest continually inhabited area of Michigan.

Kenya Howard-Bell, born April 2, is an American beauty pageant titleholder, model, and singer. Bell was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of eight, Bell won a state poetry contest for her grade level and was subsequently pulled from the regular school system and enrolled in a special... program in the city of Detroit. In addition to working with numerous charitable organizations, she has her own charity project, Soles 2 Souls. Bell completed a BS in Engineering and an MS in Management at Michigan State University. She graduated summa cum laude. She competed and won Miss Michigan USA 2001 and placed in the top ten at the Miss USA competition, where she broke the record for the highest preliminary swimsuit score to date. Bell then modeled in campaigns including for the Ford Motor Company, The Essence Festival, Torrence's House of Fashion and Bally's. She has made several runway appearances in the Milwaukee and Chicago area. She was also a member of the singing group Odyssey formed and produced by Mitchell Jones, former singer in the group Commissioned. The group caught the interest of Sony Music and was working on a deal when two of the members left.
