X27 is an American alternative rock band. They are known for their intense live shows and catchy stripped-down noisy punk rock. X27 is the lovely Carmen X and Rikkeh Suhtn . Carmen has been referred to as "white Beyoncé" because of her curvy figure. They are currently based in Brooklyn, NY. The name X27 comes from the film Dishonored, where Marlene Dietrich plays Agent X27 who hides code in her music. It is based on the real life character Mata Hari. X27 just want to write good catchy songs that people can dance to, much like the early punk musicians wanted. X27 also want their music to... be really heavy and physical as early hardcore punk bands were. They are influenced by punk, experimental, contemporary classical, Music of North Africa, grunge, and 60's pop. Rikkeh recently said, "I want to make music for people who think AC/DC and Led Zeppelin are great American rock bands." They are currently writing songs for a new record to be released on Narnack Records sometime in 2010. The band X27 was formed in 2000 in the basement of a nineteenth-century machine-shop on the southern bank of the Chicago sewer canal.
