Stabbing Westward was an American industrial rock and alternative rock band. They formed in 1985 in Chicago, Illinois and began recording in the... 1990s. The band announced a dissolution in 2002. Christopher Hall and Walter Flakus formed the band Stabbing Westward when they were in college. They came up with the name while working at the college radio station WIUS-FM. In a 1996 interview, Hall stated, "Since we went to Western Illinois University, Stabbing Westward had a certain 'kill everybody in the school' vibe to it! The school's way out in farm country and the country is really close minded. I was walking around like Robert Smith with real big hair, big baggy black clothes, black fingernail polish and eye makeup. They just didn't get it. We hated the town." Moving to Chicago in 1986, the original lineup consisted of Hall on bass and lead vocals, Flakus on keyboards, and Jim Clanin on guitar . In 1990, a four song demo tape was recorded by an early conception of Stabbing Westward.

The current members of Marilyn Manson are the eponymous lead singer, guitarist Twiggy Ramirez , bassist Fred Sablan and touring drummer Jason Sutter. Although grounded in industrial metal, the band has come to be known for altering both its image and its musical trappings frequently; the group's sound incorporating, at various stages, elements of spoken word poetry, glam rock, vaudeville and burlesque.

Pigface is an industrial rock supergroup formed in 1990 by Martin Atkins and William Rieflin. Pigface was formed from Ministry's The Mind is a... Terrible Thing to Taste tour, which produced the In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up live album and video. For the tour, Al Jourgensen brought Atkins, Nivek Ogre and Chris Connelly. Also on the tour was Rieflin, regular Ministry drummer at the time. While Atkins enjoyed the dynamic of playing with a second drummer, he felt that the lineup was capable of doing much more than being, what he has frequently called, "a Ministry cover band." Once the tour was over, Atkins and Rieflin decided to continue working together and recruited several of their tourmates from The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste tour. Pigface was born with the intention of keeping a revolving-door style collaboration with many experimentally-minded musicians, many of whom, especially early on, had recorded for the influential industrial music record label Wax Trax!. Trent Reznor was also an early partner, before Nine Inch Nails became a household name.

Waxploitation was founded in 1996 by Jeff Antebi, who is still the company's creative director. Primarily a record label and artist management company, Waxploitation is best known for developing the careers of Grammy Award winning artists including Gnarls Barkley, Danger Mouse and the Grammy... nominated artist Broken Bells. Other projects have included The Grey Album, the Dangerdoom collaboration with Adult Swim, Dark Night of the Soul with David Lynch, and most recently Rome with Danger Mouse, Jack White and Norah Jones. The company developed and managed Danger Mouse's producing career from 2003 to 2010, a period of time when Danger Mouse produced albums by Gorillaz, The Black Keys, The Good, the Bad & the Queen, and Beck. Waxploitation Records best known albums have been Causes 1 and Causes 2 to benefit the work of Oxfam, Doctors Without Borders and Human Rights Watch. The albums have included songs from Diplo, Spoon, LCD Soundsystem, Animal Collective, The Shins, Devendra Banhart, The Decemberists, Death Cab for Cutie among others. Waxploitation has released full length albums by Teargas & Plateglass, Tweaker, and Tha Alkaholiks.
