$5 Cover is an online series created by filmmaker Craig Brewer and produced by MTV and is a fictional series created to complement the documentary series "$5 Cover Amplified". The 15-part series debuted in May 2009 and feature artists from the city of Memphis, Tennessee, including Alicja Trout, Clare Grant, Jeff Pope, Amy LaVere, Al Kapone, Valerie June, Jack Oblivian, Brad Postlethwaite of Snowglobe , Muck Sticky, and Ben Nichols of Lucero.... Each episode explores living and making rent in the historical, and still very active, Memphis music scene. The show is described in MTV's official press release: "$5 Cover is a rough-and-tumble show set in the clubs, all-night cafes and no-tell motels of present-day Memphis. The series follows a cast of young musicians as they fight for love, inspiration, and money to pay the rent." The show aired on MTV as 30-minute episodes and on MTV.com as short webisodes. The show aired with a series of companion documentaries called "$5 Cover Amplified".

Seth Benjamin Green is an American actor, comedian, voice actor, television producer and screenwriter. He is well known for his role as Daniel "Oz" Osbourne in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as Dr. Evil's son Scott in the Austin Powers series of comedy films, Mitch Miller in That '70s Show, and the... voice of Chris Griffin on Family Guy. He also voices Lieutenant Gibbs in Titan Maximum and Jeff "Joker" Moreau in the Mass Effect video game series. Green is one of the creators and producers of the stop motion comedy series Robot Chicken, in which he also voices several characters. He has appeared in many other movies, such as Rat Race, The Italian Job, Can't Hardly Wait, Without a Paddle, as a child in Woody Allen's Radio Days, and in the horror films Stephen King's It and Idle Hands. Green was born and raised in Overbrook Park, West Philadelphia, a section of the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His parents are Barbara , an artist, and Herbert Green, a math teacher. After his parents' divorce, he has stated that camp was a place where he could reinvent himself and be good at anything he wanted.
