Clinton Township is a civil township of Lenawee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 3,624 at the 2000 census. The village of Clinton is located within the township. Both the village and township are named in honor of DeWitt Clinton, the governor of New York from 1817 to 1823. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 18.1 square miles , of which, 18.1 square miles of it is land and 0.1 square miles of it is water.
