Cold Case is an American police procedural television series which ran on CBS from September 28, 2003 to May 2, 2010. The series revolved around a fictionalized Philadelphia Police Department division that specializes in investigating cold cases. On May 18, 2010, CBS announced that the series had been canceled. The series currently airs in syndication, also on Ion Television, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday Evenings in the U.S. and on Viva in Canada. Sleuth channel occasionally airs it at midnight on the weekdays. Besides Miami Medical, Close to Home and Chase, it is the only... Bruckheimer-produced series that has yet to see a DVD release of any season. Licensing for the music used on Cold Case has been cited as a reason why this series has never been released on DVD. The show is set in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and follows Detective Lilly Rush , a homicide detective with the Philadelphia Police Department, who specializes in "cold cases", or investigations which are no longer being actively pursued by the department.
