The Mason School of Business is the business school at the College of William & Mary in Virginia. The school, named after alumni and founder of... Legg Mason, Raymond A. "Chip" Mason, in 2005, was ranked in the top 20 MBA programs in 2007 and the top 10 undergraduate programs among public universities. The school offers Full-time MBA, Part-time MBA, Executive MBA, Masters in Accounting and Undergraduate Business Degrees. In 1919, William & Mary President Julian A.C. Chandler established the Department of Business while expanding the College's sphere of services. The study of business grew in popularity over the 20th Century, with substantial growth after the end of World War II. The College established the Master of Business Administration Program in 1966. In 1968 the Department of Business became the School of Business, and in 1971, the College's Board of Visitors approved the addition of the Bachelor of Business Administration undergraduate degree. One in six undergraduate students at the College major or minor in business, making it the most popular major on campus. The Mason School of Business is an AACSB-accredited school of business.

Jon Stewart is an American political satirist, writer, television host, actor, media critic and stand-up comedian. He is widely known as host of The... Daily Show, a satirical news program that airs on Comedy Central. Stewart started as a stand-up comedian, but branched into television as host of Short Attention Span Theater for Comedy Central. He went on to host his own show on MTV, called The Jon Stewart Show, and then hosted another show on MTV called You Wrote It, You Watch It. He has also had several film roles as an actor. Stewart became the host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central in early 1999. He is also a writer and co-executive-producer of the show. After Stewart joined, The Daily Show steadily gained popularity and critical acclaim, resulting in his sixteen Emmy Awards. Stewart has gained acclaim as an acerbic, satirical critic of personality-driven media shows, in particular those of the US media networks such as CNN, Fox News Channel, and MSNBC. Critics say Stewart benefits from a double standard: he critiques other news shows from the safe, removed position of his "fake news" desk.

Linda Lavin is an American singer and actress. She is known for playing the title character in the sitcom Alice and for her Broadway performances.... After acting as a child, Lavin joined the Compass Players in the late 1950s. She began acting on Broadway in the 1960s, earning notice in "It's a BirdIt's a Plane...It's Superman" in 1966 and receiving her first Tony Award nomination in Last of the Red Hot Lovers in 1970. She moved to Hollywood in 1973 and began to work in television, making recurring appearances on Barney Miller before getting the title role in Alice, which ran from 1976 to 1985. She appeared in many telefilms and later in other TV work. She has also had roles in several feature films. In 1987, she returned to Broadway, starring in Broadway Bound , Gypsy , The Sisters Rosensweig , The Diary of Anne Frank and The Tale of the Allergist's Wife , among others. In 2010, she appeared as Ruth Steiner in Collected Stories, garnering her fifth Tony nomination. Thrice married, Lavin spends time at her North Carolina home on charitable activities.

Joseph John Ellis is a Professor of History at Mount Holyoke College whose work focuses on the lives and times of the founders of the United States... of America. His books American Sphinx: The Character of Thomas Jefferson and Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation won a National Book Award and a Pulitzer Prize. Both those books were bestsellers with hundreds of thousands of copies. He received his B.A. from the College of William and Mary, where he was initiated into Theta Delta Chi. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from Yale University in 1969. He served in the United States Army as a captain and taught for two years at West Point until 1972. That year Ellis joined the faculty at Mount Holyoke College; in 1979 he was made full professor. He is also Ford Foundation Professor. His work has concentrated on the founding fathers of the United States, including biographies of John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, the revolution and the early federalist years. Ellis served as dean of faculty at Mount Holyoke ; following that, he was named by the trustees to the endowed Ford Foundation Chair in history.

Her parents came from prominent families.
