Colonel Wolodyjowski is a 1969 Polish historical drama film directed by Jerzy Hoffman. The film is based on Fire in the Steppe, a novel by the Polish writer Henryk Sienkiewicz. The film was also serialized on Polish television, with the title The Adventures of Sir Michael . The story is set during the Ottoman Empire's invasion of Poland in 1668-72.

Jerzy Hoffman is a Polish film director and screenwriter. He is the father of early Macintosh development team member Joanna Hoffman. Hoffman directed Battle of Warsaw 1920 in 2011, the first Polish 3D feature film, stating “The fact that Poles made a film in 3D is not a miracle”.
