Sidney Ribeau is the current president of Howard University in Washington, D.C.. Prior to accepting the position at Howard, Ribeau was for 13 years... the president of Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Ribeau, a married father of three, is the 16th president of the 11,000-student university. Ribeau grew up in Detroit and is a graduate of Mackenzie High School. Ribeau received his bachelor's degree from Wayne State University in 1971. He earned master's and doctoral degrees in interpersonal communication from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in 1973 and 1979, respectively. Ribeau served on Ohio's Higher Education Funding Commission; he is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and was chair of the Inter-University Council of Presidents in 2005–06. A past member of the Bowling Green and Toledo Chambers of Commerce, he also served on the boards of United Way, the Greater Toledo Urban League, the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association-College Retirement Equities Fund , the Regional Growth Partnership, the Andersons Inc., Convergys Corp., and Worthington Industries.

David B. Dillon is the CEO of Kroger in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born in 1951 in Hutchinson, Kansas, Dillon graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1969.... Dillon is an Eagle Scout and was a senior patrol leader in Boy Scout Troop 301, of which his father was Scoutmaster. Dillon attended the University of Kansas, where he was student body president and initiated into Sigma Chi. Dillon also attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. J.S. Dillon, Dillon's great-grandfather, a Presbyterian pastor, started a self-service grocery store in Sterling, Kansas. His sons, including David's grandfather, continued growing the enterprise into a chain of stores. David's father, Paul, along with two cousins, guided the corporation in the next generation when Dillon Stores became a public corporation. It was headquartered in Hutchinson, 20 miles from Sterling. In 1982, Kroger bought out Dillon Stores. Eventually, a member of the fourth generation of the family, David, became the CEO.

Phil A. Odeen is a member of the board of directors at Northrop Grumman. He holds many other corporate and government positions. Odeen graduated Phi... Beta Kappa from the University of South Dakota in 1957. He was a Fulbright Scholar to the United Kingdom, and earned a Master's degree in 1959 from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He soon became involved in politics. He served in senior positions under the Nixon administration as staff for the Secretary of Defense and the National Security Council. He was Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, and worked directly under Henry Kissinger. From 1972 to 1978 Odeen was Vice President of Wilson Sporting Goods. Odeen was a managing partner of Coopers & Lybrand from 1978 to 1991, and then became vice chair of their management consulting services until 1992. He then became president and CEO of BDM International, where he tripled the value of the company in five years. In 1997, Secretary of Defense William Cohen selected Odeen to chair the National Defense Panel. Also in 1997 the TRW corporation acquired BDM, and Odeen became executive vice president and general manager of Information Technology at TRW.
