The Coral Gables Congregational Church is a historic church in Coral Gables, Florida, United States. The church was designed by the architect Richard... Kiehnel of Kiehnel and Elliott in 1923. It is located at 3010 DeSoto Boulevard. On October 10, 1978, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It has been known to encourage artistic and musical pursuits for youths. In particular the Coral Gables Congregational Church Composition Prize which, in 2006, was won by Australian composer Gordon Hamilton.

The Coral Gables Elementary School is a historic school in Coral Gables, Florida. The school was designed by the architect Richard Kiehnel of Kiehnel... and Elliott. It is located at 105 Minorca Avenue. On June 30, 1988, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The school has an excellent academic reputation. For the past seven years, Coral Gables Elementary has received an "A" rating from the Florida Department of Education. The school is 64% Hispanic, 31% White Non-Hispanic, 3% Black and 2% Asian/Other Coral Gables Elementary School opened as Coral Gables Grammar School in October, 1923, with thirty-nine pupils and one teacher, Mary Feaster Jackson. Abigail Gilday was the first principal who opened the school and served as its first principal until 1945. The school was financed and built by George Merrick, founder of Coral Gables, with the understanding that the Dade County School Board would repay him $10,000 for the land and $25,000 for the school building. Upon completion of the third phase, in 1926 the school had grown to 1,000 students.

The Coral Gables Merrick House is a historic home in Coral Gables, Florida. It is located at 907 Coral Way. On April 13, 1973, it was added to the... U.S. National Register of Historic Places. The house was the family residence of George E. Merrick, founder of the city of Coral Gables. The house has been restored for a 1925 appearance by the City of Coral Gables, and is open for tours twice a week.

The Coral Gables City Hall is a historic site in Coral Gables, Florida. It is located at 405 Biltmore Way. On July 24, 1974, it was added to the U.S.... National Register of Historic Places. The city hall was built in the Mediterranean Revival architectural style. It was completed in 1928. Phineas Paist and Harold Steward were the architects; Denman Fink was the artistic advisor. It is three stories tall, built of local limestone, has a stuccoed exterior, tile roof, central 3-stage clock tower, and a Corinthian colonnade. It was major element in the plan of George E. Merrick, founder of Coral Gables, to create a Spanish-Mediterranean city.

She appeared in sci-fi films such as Lost in Space as well as the television series The X-Files as Diana Fowley. She appeared as the mother of Vanessa Kensington in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery , and in the final season of Dawson's Creek she played the mother of Jen Lindley . In 2006 she starred in a Fox sitcom, The Loop, and in 2010 guest starred in long-running animated sitcom King of the Hill.

David Fralick is an American actor who portrayed the recurring character of Larry Warton on The Young and the Restless from 1995 to 1996, and again... from 1999 to 2005. Also known for his performance as Graffiti in the 2000 movie Lockdown . Manuel Benitez , who went by the stage name Mark Everett, was an American child actor in Hollywood films and a fugitive wanted by the FBI for the... murder of his girlfriend in 2004. On December 23, 2008, he was shot and killed by police officers responding to a hostage situation in El Monte, California. Manuel Benitez was the illegitimate son of the internationally famous bullfighter Manuel Benitez, known as "El Cordobes," the greatest bullfighter of all time. Spanish Paparazzi followed the real El Cordobes and Manny's mother, Alina Elizabeth Velasco throughout the world as they partied through the seventies. Their relationship ended in a bitter five-year court dispute, with Manny's mother moving to Los Angeles to hire the famous palimony lawyer Marvin Mitchelson to seek support for her and her son who seemed a natural in Hollywood. Benitez was nine years old when he began his acting career.

Mel Gorham is an American actress who is best known for her role as Violet in Wayne Wang's films Smoke and Blue in the Face. Gorham is from Coral... Gables, Florida and is of Cuban and Russian Jewish descent. Gorham's improvised monologue in Blue in the Face garnered her much critical acclaim and press. Major film roles in Curdled and Cop Land followed. In 1997, Gorham was then cast as the star of an NBC sitcom titled Union Square. But after the pilot was filmed, the producers replaced her with Constance Marie. Gorham returned to the world of New York City theater where she began. After a long absence, she returned to film with a role in Wayne Wang's 2001 film The Center of the World. She continues work in film and theater.
