As part of the first ever Georgia IronTeam, 46 everyday people from all walks of life raised over $309,000 for the Team in Training Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, including CrowdSource’s VP of Sales Ken Stoddart.
Totaling 140.6 miles of athleticism, grit, guts and glory, an Ironman is an athletic test unlike any other in the world. The rigorous training schedule lasts nearly a year and equals a combined 21 days of training time and 4,148 miles in distance; the emotional and physical exhaustion alone is more than most can overcome.
“The training and preparation for the race was probably the hardest thing I have ever done and certainly one of my proudest accomplishments of my life. And that includes all of the challenges I faced when I was at The Citadel,” noted Ken.
Since joining the CrowdSource team in the spring of 2011, Ken has been working to build the foundation of CrowdSource and developing enterprise, small business and international sales channels.
Stephanie Leffler, CEO of CrowdSource, saw Ken’s determined nature help him succeed in the Ironman and in launching CrowdSource’s sales group. “Training for an ironman is very similar to the startup of a company. It is a long journey with many ups and downs; however, the can-do attitude and desire to succeed coupled with extremely hard work leads to success, and Ken has exactly what it takes to be successful,” noted Leffler.
Stoddart said, “Seeing my wife, family, and friends waiting for me at the finish line was a moment I will never forget. They knew how hard I had worked and how badly I wanted to become an Ironman. All of the effort and hard work paid off when the voice of Ironman, Mike Reilly, announced to the crowd ‘Ken Stoddart, you are an Ironman.’”
