The Southern Illinois chapter of the American Institute of Architects recently awarded EWR’s designer Bill Hustedde with a first place award for interior design for his work on the commercial interior at Juggle.com’s office.
Swansea, IL (PRWEB) March 25, 2011 — Juggle.com, a leading online reference resource, announced today that it has received a first place award from the Southern Illinois chapter of the American Institute of Architects for commercial interior design, a competition highlighting architectural achievements in the greater southern Illinois region.
The contest, hosted every other year, accepted entrants in several different categories, including: interiors, educational, institutional, commercial and residential, among others. Judging was 100% anonymous and conducted by architects outside of the local area. This year’s judges were apprised of a professor from Washington University, a professor from the University of Illinois and the president of the Illinois chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
Of the first criteria handed to designer Bill Hustedde was to not only create an office space with a full-size NASCAR display as the focal point, but also to avoid creating a space that inhibits hard work and productivity levels. Juggle.com’s CEO Stephanie Leffler understands the importance work environment can have on productivity levels. She stated, “Transforming the boring office space was a challenge. Creating an exciting, yet functional atmosphere was our number one priority when we met with building the designer. In addition to the creative and fun atmosphere, we also wanted to maintain an environment that helps us to maximize our productivity levels.”
About this accomplishment, EWR Associates’ designer Bill Hustedde noted, “It was special to have been involved in a project that not only satisfies a client’s tangible needs but also excites and inspires. The ultimate success of a project is very dependent on the client-designer relationship. This collaboration was perfect!”
In addition to this award, the Saint Louis Business Journal recently awarded Juggle.com as one of the 2011 Best Places to Work in the Saint Louis metropolitan area. The interior design of the building played an integral role for that award as well. Juggle employees also participate in various off-site work functions, such as golf and bowling, promoting team building and open-communication. Employees also appreciate the perks of weekly messages, daily delivered lunches, haircuts and oil changes.
