Cabaniss Field is the baseball stadium for the varsity baseball team of the Corpus Christi Independent School District. The school district allowed... the stadium to be used starting in 1976 for minor league baseball, but did not allow the team to sell beer, so the team left after the 1977 season. When minor league baseball moved back to Corpus Christi in 2005, a new park - Whataburger Field - was built downtown for the new team.

Schepps Palm Field was a minor league baseball venue located in Corpus Christi, TX. It was home to the short-lived Corpus Christi Clippers of the Big... State League from 1954 to 1957 and the Corpus Christi Giants from 1958 to 1959. The field was challenging to play on due to the widening cracks and hard surface. The original name for the ballpark, Schepps Palm Field, was named after entrepreneur George Schepps. The Palm part was named for the palm trees, which is the only sustainable icon where the park once stood. The park later went by the names Clippers Field and shortly thereafter, changed to Giants Field. Unlike the more sophisticated Whataburger Field, Schepps Palm Field had no air conditioning to aid players during the oppressively hot summers in Texas. The field was not any better; the ground cracked, caused irregular bounces, and looked similar to a sandlot than a traditional ballpark. In 1958, in their first season as the Corpus Christi Giants, the team had an average year. They finished third with a 77-75 record, good enough for 3rd place.

The Texas State Aquarium is a nonprofit aquarium located in Corpus Christi, Texas, United States. It is dedicated to promoting environmental... conservation and rehabilitation of the wildlife of the Gulf of Mexico. It has been accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums since 1995. Originally conceived by a coalition led by the Junior League of Corpus Christi and named the Gulf Coast Zoological and Botanical Society, the organization changed its name to the Corpus Christi Aquarium Association in 1978, and then to Texas State Aquarium Association in 1986 after the Texas State Legislature designated it the "Official Aquarium of Texas", although it would receive no state dollars. After more than 20 years of fundraising, planning, and building, the Texas State Aquarium opened its first exhibit to the public on July 6, 1990. In 1993 the aquarium became a federally-permitted animal rehabilitation, and in 1995 it was accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums . The current director and chief executive officer of the aquarium is Tom Schmid.

Terrence McNally is an American playwright who has received four Tony Awards, an Emmy, two Guggenheim Fellowships, a Rockefeller Grant, the Lucille... Lortel Award, the Hull-Warriner Award, and a citation from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. He has been a member of the Council of the Dramatists Guild since 1970 and has served as vice-president since 1981. McNally was partnered to Thomas Kirdahy following a civil union ceremony in Vermont in 2003, and they subsequently married in Washington, D.C. on April 6, 2010. Born in St. Petersburg, Florida and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, McNally moved to New York City in 1956 to attend Columbia University, where he majored in English and wrote Columbia's annual Varsity Show, graduating in 1960, the same year in which he gained membership into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He worked briefly for the alumni magazine Columbia College Today. After graduation, McNally moved to Mexico to focus on his writing, completing a one-act play which he submitted to the Actors Studio in New York for production.

Raymond Emmett Berry is a former football wide receiver. He played for the Baltimore Colts during their two NFL championship wins. He later had a... career in coaching, highlighted by his trip to Super Bowl XX as head coach of the New England Patriots. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Raymond Berry enlisted as a private in the Maryland Army National Guard on May 17, 1957. He was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 684th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion , located near Baltimore. He subsequently served in Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 684th Missile Battalion ; Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 224th Field Artillery Group; Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 691st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Group; and Company B, 16th Special Forces Group, all components of the Maryland National Guard. He was discharged from the National Guard in March 1963, at the end of his second enlistment, with the rank of Specialist Four. In high school and college, Berry caught very few passes. He didn't start on his high-school team until he was a senior, even though his father was the coach.

He was raised in Texas, where he attended Flour Bluff High School in Corpus Christi graduating in 1980.

Helen Jeanette Donath is an American soprano with a career spanning fifty years. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and studied at Del Mar... College in Corpus Christi and with Paola Novikova in New York. She debuted as a concert and Lieder singer in New York in 1958. In 1961, she became a member of the Opernstudio in Cologne and the Staatsoper Hannover. In Hanover, she met her husband, the choir master and conductor Klaus Donath. Their son Alexander is a stage and opera director. In 2000, all three were involved in Michigan Opera Theatre's production of Der Rosenkavalier. In 1967, she sang Pamina in Mozart's The Magic Flute at the Salzburg Festival, which began a long association with the festival. From 1970 to 1990, she was a regular member of the Vienna State Opera. She has performed all over the world including at the Vienna State Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Salzburg Festival, Covent Garden, La Scala, Barcelona, Paris, Florence, Tokyo, Berlin, Munich. In 2006, she had performances as Despina in Così fan tutte at the Vienna State Opera, Salzburg Festival and other places.

Making her debut at the age of 16 with the group Uptown, she later formed Tashannie, a hip-hop and R&B duo in 1999 where she was the primary vocalist. David Carson is an American graphic designer. He is best known for his innovative magazine design, and use of experimental typography. He was the... art director for the magazine Ray Gun. Carson was perhaps the most influential graphic designer of the 1990s. In particular, his widely imitated aesthetic defined the so-called "grunge typography" era. He was born on September 8, 1954 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Since then he has lived in and traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe and lectured frequently around the world. Carson's first actual contact with graphic design was made in 1980 at the University of Arizona on a two week graphics course, taught by Jackson Boelts. He attended San Diego State University as well as Oregon College of Commercial Art. Later on in 1983, Carson was teaching high school Sociology in del mar California when he went to Switzerland, where he attended a three-week workshop in graphic design as part of his degree. This is where he met his first great influence, who also happened to be the teacher of this course, Hans-Rudolf Lutz. Carson has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.

Daniel Patrick "Danny" Lohner , frequently known as Renholdër, is an American rock musician who plays bass guitar, electric guitar, and... keyboards. He worked with Trent Reznor on numerous occasions, both with Nine Inch Nails and on the now defunct Tapeworm project. He has also played for Killing Joke, Methods of Mayhem, and in the past was one of the founding members of industrial-thrash outlet Skrew, as well as one of the members of the Texas thrash metal band Angkor Wat. In 1994, Trent Reznor brought Lohner into Nine Inch Nails to play guitar, bass, and keyboards for the band live. Lohner stayed on with the band throughout the touring cycle to The Downward Spiral, both the recording and touring behind The Fragile, the live album/DVD And All That Could Have Been, and the recording of the Still EP. Lohner left Nine Inch Nails on good terms to focus on production work as Trent Reznor began working on the Nine Inch Nails album With Teeth.
