Ruffhouse Records is a record label founded in 1989 by Chris Schwartz and Joe Nicolo as a joint venture with Columbia Records. Jeff Wells was the President of A&R and the Vice President and General Manager of Ruff House Records. Under the label, Wells won two Grammy Awards for Album of the Year... and titled the score by the Fugees . The second Grammy Award was won in the category of Best collaboration by a group or duo with a vocal; Killing Me Softly by the Fugees. Jeff Wells also earned 37 R.I.A.A Certified Multi-Platinum Records. In 1999, Schwartz and Nicolo stopped the label. Schwartz and Kevon Glickman continued with RuffNation Records; Chris Schwartz has worked in the music and film industry for almost 30 years. Chris has been the CEO of various companies that have been distributed through Warner Bros., EMI, Sony BMG and Universal. Chris has amassed over 175 Gold & platinum records while his companies have sold over 100 million albums worldwide breaking some the biggest artists who've won multitudes of awards including over 20 Grammys.

Columbia Records is an American record label, owned by Japan's Sony Music Entertainment, operating under the Columbia Music Group with Aware Records. It was founded in 1888, evolving from an earlier enterprise, the American Graphophone Company—successor to the Volta Graphophone Company.... Columbia is the oldest brand name in pre-recorded sound, being the first record company to produce pre-recorded records as opposed to blank cylinders. Columbia Records went on to release records by an array of notable singers, instrumentalists, and bands. From 1961 to 1990, its recordings were released outside the U.S. and Canada on the CBS Records label before adopting the Columbia name in most of the world. Until 1989, Columbia Records had no connection to Columbia Pictures, which used various other names for record labels they owned, including Colpix and later Arista; rather, it was connected to the original owner, CBS, which stood for Columbia Broadcasting System.

Suburban Noize Records, also known as "Subnoize", is an independent record label based in Burbank, California that specializes in punk rock and underground hip hop. The label was founded in 1995 by Kevin Zinger and Kottonmouth Kings vocalist Brad Xavier. In addition to producing music, the label... has multiple subsidiaries, including SRH Clothing, which specializes in skater and surfer clothes and merchandise for the label and Anti-Hero Management, which handles the label's acts. Suburban Noize was founded in 1995 as an imprint of Capitol Records by music manager Kevin Zinger and Brad Xavier, a punk rock vocalist and rapper who formed the punk bands Doggy Style and Humble Gods, and the rap rock band Kottonmouth Kings. New acts managed by the label are featured on a Kottonmouth Kings album before touring with the band as its opening act, and later recording an album for Suburban Noize in a studio owned and operated by the label. A majority of the label's merchandise and album sales are via the Internet and merchandising booths at live performances.
