Erick Avari is an Indian American television, film and theater actor known for his roles in various science-fiction serial productions. Erick Avari... was born Nariman Eruch Avari in Darjeeling, West Bengal, India, into an old Parsi-Zoroastrian family of that town in the Himalayan foothills. His father Eruch Avari ran two movie theatres there. His early education was at the prestigious North Point School , which he attended as a day-scholar. He studied at the College of Charleston, in South Carolina. Erick is a member of the Avari-Madan family of Darjeeling and Calcutta. His great-grandfather was Jamshedji Framji Madan, one of the pioneers of Indian cinema. Avari is known for his roles in films such as Stargate, Independence Day, Flight of the Living Dead , The Mummy, Daredevil, Home Alone 4, Planet of the Apes and Mr. Deeds. Along with Alexis Cruz, he is one of only two actors to appear in both the original Stargate movie and the spin-off series Stargate SG-1 .

October 1945 in Darjeeling, Bengal Presidency, British India. Her father was Girija Golkunda Sanyal. Director Bibhuti Laha named her Suchorita for his film “Khokhababur Pratyabartan”. After that director Kanak Mukhopadhay decided to make it shorter into Sumita. Famous actress Lila Desai was very much known to Sumita. Lila introduced her to Agradoot. After she got a chance in “Khokababur Pratyabartan”, she acted in more than 40 films in Bengali including “Sagina Mahato” opposite Dilip Kumar. She also has acted in a number of Hindi films, the most notable of which was Anand in 1970 opposite Amitabh Bachchan. She also acted television serials, professional stage and in group theatre with the notable association with “Ranga Sabha”. She was married to the film editor Subodh Roy. They have one son.

Niruta Singh is one of the leading actresses of Nepali cinema. Born in Darjeeling, India, she started her career with the 1993 Tulsi Ghimire classic... Dakshina and eventually made her way to become the No. 1 actress of Nepali film industry. Niruta moved to Nepal after she started acting in films. Her father was a friend of director Tulsi Ghimire and it was Tulsi who brought her into the film industry with Dakshina . She went on to become the only actress of the Ghimire camp, first since legendary actress Tripti Nadakar, and went on to play such hits as Rahar. Niruta had come to everyone's attention from her first film but it was another Tulsi Ghimire film Darpan Chaya that made Niruta everyone's apple of the eye. Playing a college girl with just six months remaining to live, her performance received huge appreciation and Darpan Chaya went on to become a huge blockbuster of Nepali film industry, grossing NRs 70 million in 2001, the highest collection ever for a Nepali film. Along with being a very good actress, she is also a singer.

Prashant Tamang is a Darjeeling-based singer and actor. He was the winner of Indian Idol Season 3 in 2007.. He is also the first person from the... Indian police force to enter the final rounds of Indian Idol. Prashant Tamang was born in Darjeeling, West Bengal, to Rupa Tamang and Madan Tamang. He spent most of his early life in the Himalayan region of Darjeeling and studied at St. Robert's School. After the demise of his father in an accident, Prashant left school and joined Kolkata Police as a constable in his father place. In Kolkata Police, he sang for the police orchestra. His family includes his grandmother, mother and his sister, Archana. Prashant married Geeta Thapa , who is a flight attendant, on 16 February 2011 in Nagaland, India. According to the Indian Idol programme commentary, Prashant auditioned for Indian Idol III because his friends and his seniors, especially Mr. Zulfiqar Hasan, Special Additional Commissioner of Police told him that his voice was very good. He auditioned for Indian Idol in Kolkata and was subsequently chosen for the next rounds.
