Delanie Walker is an American football tight end for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. He has also played in the positions of fullback and wide receiver. He was drafted by the 49ers in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played college football at Central Missouri. Walker is known for having wide receiver like-speed which makes it difficult for linebackers to cover him. Walker attended Pomona High School under the direction of Coach John Capraro. Walker first enrolled at Mount San Antonio Community College. He then transferred to the University of Central... Missouri. While at UCM he set or equalled several receiving records. On June 22, 2008, the 49ers signed Walker to a three-year, $6 million extension through 2012. The deal included a $1.8 million signing bonus. In 2011, Jim Harbaugh became head coach of the 49ers. He has praised Delanie Walker's skill set and he uses him about 17 different ways in the west coast offense.
