Debout Kongolaise, or Arise Congolese, is the national anthem of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was first adopted by the Congo as its anthem on independence in 1960. The anthem was kept until 1972, when the the country's name was changed to Zaire. A coup in 1997 restored the anthem and the name.
