Deon D'Marquis Grant is an American football safety for the New York Giants of the National Football League . He played college football for the University of Tennessee, was a member of Tennessee's national championship team and earned All-American honors. He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2000 NFL Draft, and has also played professionally for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks of the NFL. Grant was born in Augusta, Georgia. He attended T. W. Josey High School in Augusta, and played high school football for the T.W. Josey Eagles. In 1995, Deon... Grant and the T.W. Josey Eagles would go on to defeat Cedar Shoals to win the AAA State Championship and comple a perfect record of 15-0. Grant attended the University of Tennessee, and played for the Tennessee Volunteers football team from 1997 to 2000. He was selected as a consensus first-team All-American in 1999 after he tied for the NCAA lead with nine interceptions for 167 return yards.
