Ritwik Ghatak or Ritwik Kumar Ghatak Ghôţok]  listen ; 4 November 1925 – 6 February 1976 was a Bengali Indian filmmaker... and script writer. Along with prominent contemporary Bengali filmmakers Satyajit Ray and Mrinal Sen, his cinema is primarily remembered for its meticulous depiction of social reality. Although their roles were often adversarial, they were ardent admirers of each other's work, and in doing so, the three directors charted the independent trajectory of parallel cinema, as a counterpoint to the mainstream fare of Hindi cinema in India. Ghatak received quite a few awards in his career, including National Film Award's Rajat Kamal Award for Best Story in 1974 for his fim Jukti Takko Aar Gappo, Best Director's Award from Bangladesh Cine Journalist's Association for Titash Ekti Nadir Naam. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri for Arts in 1970. Ritwik Ghatak was born in Dhaka in East Bengal . Ghatak's father Suresh Chandra Ghatak was a district magistrate and also a poet and playwright; his mother's name was Indubala Devi.

Humayun Faridi was a Bangladeshi actor. He worked in television dramas, movies and theatres. Humayun was born in Dhaka in 29 May 1952 to ATM Nurul... Islam and Begaum Farida Islam. In 1968, Humayun passed SSC exam from Islamia Government High School and in 1970 he passed HSC from Chandpur Government College. Same year, he entered into University of Dhaka in Organic Chemistry subject. However, due to Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971 study became impossible. Later he admitted into Jahangirnagar University in Economics and during his university life time, he was a close associate of Selim Al-Deen. Humayun Faridi was one of the principal organizer of 1976 Drama Festival of Jahangirnagar University. Mainly from this moment, he started to be famous. He became a member of Dhaka Theatre during his student life in the university. . Humayun later acted on numerous drama on the country's television. One character 'Kan Kata Ramjan' from the novel 'Shongshoptok' earned Faridi extreme popularity in the country. During 90s, Faridi started acting in Film where he also earned extreme popularity by bringing new concept in the acting.

Dino Shafeek was a Bangladeshi actor and comedian based in the United Kingdom and the star or co-star of several popular English TV comedies during... the 1970s and early 1980s. He is best remembered for playing the part of Char Wallah Muhammed in the BBC sitcom It Ain't Half Hot Mum as well as the role of Ali Nadim in ITV sitcom Mind Your Language. Dino Shafeek was born in Dacca, East Bengal, British India in 1929. He came from a humble family though little else is known of his early life. He went on to matriculate from a high school in Dhaka and then attended Dacca University where he gained a Bachelor of Arts. During this time, Shafeek became very active in amateur theater in Dhaka. In the 1950s, he came to England and enrolled at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Due to his inexperience Shafeek struggled to find fulfilling acting roles after graduating from Guildhall School. His roles were largely confined to playing minor supporting parts such as immigrants, taxi drivers, tourists or customs officials. His first film role was as ‘Akbar’ in the film The Long Duel , starring Yul Brynner.

Shabnam is actually her film-name. Her real name is Jharna Basak born August 17, in the 1944s. Her father is Nani Basak, the well known Scout master and football referee from Dhaka. Shabnam is married to Robin Ghosh, a well known music composer. She shot to fame with the hit Bengali film "Harano Din" 1961 and attained all Pakistan stardom with the box office Urdu hit "Chanda" 1962. Both the films were produced from Dhaka, East Pakistan. "Talaash" was an even bigger than all Pakistan hit that followed next year. By mid sixties she became one of the most popular actresses of Pakistan. Professional commitments eventually took her to Karachi, Pakistan where she settled down in 1968.

Electronics and Circuit Diagram published in 1995 and 1996 respectively. He is an international Fine Art Photographer. He received Medallion award from the 59th International Photographic Salon of Japan in 1999. He received the SAARC Youth Award 1999 for his outstanding photography . Alam is also well-known for his aerial photography over Bangladesh. His compositional music album Tunes Of Heaven is released in 2009. He is the founder of Cotheeka Stock Photo Agency .

Sumita Devi was a Bengali film and TV actress. She was born Hena Bhattacharya in Manikganj District, Bengal . She was married to the filmmaker Zahir... Raihan. Sumita Devi was a leading personality of Dhaka film society in the 1960s. She first acted in the feature film Aasia . Her next film was Akash Ar Mati . Both were directed by Fateh Lohani. Aasia got the President's Award as the best Bengali film for 1960. Sumita's career in acting spanned for nearly four decades. She acted in the main role in more than fifty feature films and in side roles in more than a hundred. Noted among the films Sumita acted in are E Desh Tomar Amar , Aasia , Kokhono Asheni , Sonar Kajol , Kancher Deyal , Ei To Jibon , Dui Diganta , Behula , Agun Niye Khela , Obhishap , Ora Egaro Jon , Sujon Sokhi and Amar Janmabhumi . During her long career in acting, she performed roles in radio, television and theatre as well. As a filmmaker, Sumita produced five films.
