The Dallas Mavericks are a professional basketball team based in Dallas, Texas. They are members of the Southwest Division of the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association , and the reigning NBA champions, having defeated the Miami Heat in the 2011 NBA Finals. Forbes Magazine report, they are the fourth-most valuable basketball franchise in the United States, valued at approximately $497 million; the franchise is surpassed in value only by the New York Knicks, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Chicago Bulls Since their inaugural 1980–81 season, the Mavericks have won three division titles , two conference championships , and one NBA Championship . In 1979, businessman Don Carter and partner Norm Sonju requested the right to bring an NBA franchise to Dallas, Texas. The last professional basketball team in Dallas had been the Dallas Chaparrals of the American Basketball Association, which moved to San Antonio in 1973 to become the San Antonio Spurs. At the 1980 NBA All-Star Game, league owners voted to admit the new team, with the team's name coming from the 1957–1962 TV western Maverick.

Würzburg is a city in the region of Franconia which lies in the northern tip of Bavaria, Germany. Located at the Main River, it is the capital of the Regierungsbezirk Lower Franconia. The regional dialect is Franconian. Würzburg is approximately 120 kilometres from either Frankfurt am... Main or Nuremberg by road. The city of Würzburg is included in the district of Würzburg, but is its administrative seat . Its population is 133,501 as of 31 December 2008. By 1000 BC a Celtic fortification stood on the site of the present Fortress Marienberg. It was Christianized in 686 by Irish missionaries Kilian, Kolonat and Totnan. The city is first mentioned as a Frankish settlement called Vurteburch in 704. The first diocese was founded by Saint Boniface in 742. He appointed the first bishop of Würzburg, Saint Burkhard. The bishops eventually created a duchy with its center in the city, which extended in the 12th century to Eastern Franconia. The city was the seat of several Imperial diets, including the one of 1180, in which Henry the Lion was banned from the Empire and his duchy was handed over to Otto of Wittelsbach.
