Dnipro Stadium is a football stadium in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. It is mostly for football matches and hosts the homes matches of FC Dnipro... Dnipropetrovsk. The stadium has a capacity of 31,003 people. It replaced Dnipro's old stadium Stadium Meteor. It staged the World Cup qualifying match between Ukraine and England as the Olimpiysky National Sports Complex in Kiev was being rebuilt ready for Euro 2012. The Dnipro Arena was chosen as a possible venue for Euro 2012, but was dropped from the list in May 2009. The capacity fell short of the minimum 33,000 seats required by UEFA. Dnipro Arena hosted the final match of the Ukrainian Cup 2009, where Vorskla Poltava beat FC Shakhtar Donetsk with a final score 1:0.

Tatyana Aleksandrovna Navka is a Russian ice dancer who has also competed for the Soviet Union and Belarus. With partner Roman Kostomarov, she is... the 2006 Olympic Champion, two-time World champion , three-time Grand Prix Final champion , and three-time European champion . Tatiana Navka became interested in skating at the age of five after seeing it on television. She originally skated for the Soviet Union with Samuel Gezalian. Following the fall of the Soviet Union, Navka and Gezalian began skating for Belarus. They placed 11th at the 1994 Winter Olympics. Navka teamed up with Nikolai Morozov in 1996, continuing to represent Belarus. At their first practice at the 1997 World Championships, Morozov sustained a torn meniscus in his knee but they finished 14th at the event and he then underwent surgery. They earned an Olympic berth by winning gold at the 1997 Karl Schäfer Memorial. They finished 16th at the 1998 Winter Olympics and 10th at the 1998 World Championships. Navka and Morozov were coached by Alexander Zhulin.

Tatiana Andreеvna Volosozhar is a Russian pair skater. With current partner Maxim Trankov, she is the 2011 World silver medalist, 2011 Grand... Prix Final silver medalist, and 2011 Russian national champion. They are also gold medalists at 2011 Skate Canada and 2011 Trophee Eric Bompard. Volosozhar competed for Ukraine with Petr Kharchenko from 2000–2004 and with Stanislav Morozov from 2004-2010. They were four-time Ukrainian national champions and finished as high as 4th at the World Championships. Volosozhar began skating at the age of four. The instructors at her skating class were initially dismissive, saying she was overweight, but gave her three months and eventually agreed to keep her. She took up pair skating at age 14. As a junior, Volosozhar skated for four years with Petr Kharchenko. They trained in Dnipropetrovsk in very poor conditions until they were able to move to Kiev in 2003; Volosozhar was accompanied by her mother. Their coach in Kiev was Galina Kukhar.

Elias Breeskin was a violinist, composer and conductor. Elias was born sometime in 1896 in Yekaterinsolav, a small village in the Ukraine, which has... now morphed into the industrial city of Dnipropetrovsk, with over a million inhabitants. The dam on the Dneiper River, shown on the film Doctor Zhivago, is in this city. Elias was the youngest of three brothers. His older twin brothers were about ten years older than he, and were identified as potential classical musicians. The story has it that Boris and Daniel, at the age of 19, went off to the Caucasus Mountains to play a violin gig. Boris ran outside in the frigid air without his overcoat, caught pneumonia, and died. Elias was profoundly affected by the death of his brother. Olga, Elias' mother, realized that he had musical talent as well, and bent her strong will to providing him with the best musical education that could be obtained in Russia at the time. Elias’ references to his mother were always curious in nature. He referred to her with a mixture of emotions, among them being strong love, fear, admiration, and wonder, all present in his face.

Marina Maximilian Blumin , is an Israeli singer and actress. She was the runner up of the 5th season of Kokhav Nolad . Marina was born in... Dnipropetrovsk, Soviet Union on 15 December 1987. At the age of three, she immigrated to Israel with her parents. The family lived with friends in Ramat Gan before settling in the Pardes Katz neighbourhood of Bnei Brak. From a young age, she studied piano with her mother, Ella, a classical pianist, and sang in a choir. Marina later went to the conservatory where her mother taught. Marina graduated from Ironi Alef high school in Tel Aviv. She began performing at jazz clubs at the age of 15, after pianist Rick Birman took her under his wing. She performed at the Red Sea Jazz Festival in Eilat. She sang with the Common Band, an Ethnic-Fusion-Rock-Jazz band in festivals and clubs, and performed a solo, Beit Sefer LeMiskhak on Ohad Ben Avi's debut album. In 2007, Marina auditioned for the 5th season of Kokhav Nolad and was accepted. During the show, she mostly sang Israeli pop and folk songs, adding her own jazz nuances.

Leonid Borisovich Kogan was a violin virtuoso and one of the 20th century's most famous Soviet violinists. He ranked among the greatest... representatives of the Soviet School of violin playing. Kogan was born in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, the son of a photographer who was an amateur violinist. After showing an early interest and ability for violin playing, his family moved to Moscow, where he was able to further his studies. From age ten he studied there with the noted violin pedagogue Abram Yampolsky. In 1934, Jascha Heifetz played concerts in Moscow. "I attended every one," Kogan later said, "and can remember until now every note he played. He was the ideal artist for me." When Kogan was 12, Jacques Thibaud was in Moscow and heard him play. The French virtuoso predicted a great future for Kogan. Kogan studied at the Central Music School in Moscow , then at the Moscow Conservatory , where he studied as a postgraduate . At the age of 17, and while still a student, he performed throughout the USSR.
