Tim DeLaughter , is a singer and songwriter. He has gained attention as a very energetic and engaging frontman for both Tripping Daisy and his... current band, The Polyphonic Spree. Following the break-up of Tripping Daisy, and prior to the formation of The Polyphonic Spree, DeLaughter opened the record store Good Records located on Lower Greenville in Dallas. Since 2001, DeLaughter has toured extensively with his new band, and has collaborated with acts such as Stereolab, Death in Vegas, Peter Gabriel and David Bowie. He scored the music for the film, Thumbsucker. The soundtrack to that film was released on September 13, 2005. He was heavily influenced by the death of Tripping Daisy's lead guitarist, Wes Berggren. Though he was raised somewhat religiously, DeLaughter says he started finding religion in other things that had nothing to do with the church—it was more the environment, trees and sun and weather and, you know. I found that my prosperity is through the growth of the environment, the trees and stuff. It’s weird—I see, like, the asphalt and there’s a little patch of grass that grows up in that asphalt and cars are going over it daily.

Tamika Devonne Catchings is an American professional basketball player for the Indiana Fever of the WNBA and Turkish team Galatasaray. She is a... prolific scorer close to and far from the basket, as well as a capable rebounder, ball handler, and defender. After playing at Adlai E. Stevenson High School and graduating from Duncanville High School, Tamika Catchings became one of the stars of the University of Tennessee women's basketball team. In 2001, she was drafted by the Indiana Fever. After sitting out the entire year in which she was drafted due to injury, she had an all-star rookie season in 2002. In 2011, she was voted in by fans as one of the Top 15 players in WNBA history. Catchings played for Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas, where she was named a WBCA All-American. She participated in the WBCA High School All-America Game where she scored twelve points. She is also the first player in to be officially credited with scoring a quintuple-double. Catchings was an All-American with the Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball for 1997–2001.

Barry Foster is a former American football running back in the National Football League. Barry Foster attended Duncanville High School in Texas.... Then later attended the University of Arkansas where he played Fullback for the Razorbacks. Foster wore the number 18. After 3 seasons he decided to forgo his senior season and enter the 1990 NFL Draft and was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 19th pick of the 5th round by Chuck Noll. Foster was 5'10 and weighted 223 wearing #29 for the Steelers and Panthers. Unfortunately, Barry Foster’s NFL career was cut short because of injuries. Even so, he brought the running game back to Pittsburgh. For his career he carried the football 915 times for 3943 yards for a 4.3-yard average, caught 93 balls for 804 more yards and scored 28 touchdowns and 2 Pro-Bowls. His 1,690 in 1992 is still the Steelers single season record for a running back. Known in the 90's as "The NFL's Other Barry".

Jill Marie Jones is an African-American actress. She is best known for her role as realtor Toni Childs on the UPN/CW sitcom Girlfriends. After... attending Duncanville High School, and Texas Woman's University, she started modeling, before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting full time. Jones was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader for two years, a Dallas Mavericks Dancer for one year, and toured with the United Service Organization and United States Department of Defense to Korea, Japan, Israel, and Egypt. She has also performed on "Monday Night Football" and "The Miss Texas Pageant." Her first acting credits were the Saturday morning series City Guys as well as the made-for-television trilogy America's Dream, which starred Danny Glover and Wesley Snipes. Jones' portrayal of the self-centered and materialistic Toni Childs for six seasons in Girlfriends marked her first regular role in a series; in May 2006 it was confirmed that Jones left Girlfriends because her contract ended. Some viewers were upset about her departure and the ratings suffered a decline: from 3.5 million in season 6 to 2.5 million in season 7, and 2.1 million in season 8.

Gene Summers is an American rock/rockabilly singer and entertainer. Some of his classic recordings include "School of Rock 'n Roll", "Straight... Skirt", "Nervous", "Gotta Lotta That", "Twixteen", "Alabama Shake" and his biggest-selling single "Big Blue Diamonds". Summers was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 1997 and The Southern Legends Entertainment & Performing Arts Hall of Fame in 2005. He still performs worldwide and celebrated his 50th anniversary as a recording artist in 2008 with the release of Reminisce Cafe. Summers graduated from Duncanville High School in 1957 and attended Arlington State College, now known as the University of Texas at Arlington. That same year, he formed the rockabilly band The Rebels and performed on Joe Bill's Country Picnic on KRLD-TV where they were spotted by songwriter Jed Tarver. This led to the band being signed by newly-found Jan Records. Their first record was released on February 1, 1958, under the name of Gene Summers & His Rebels. Many songs popularized by Gene Summers have been recorded by other artists.
