Apoorva Lakhia is an Indian film director. Apoorva Lakhia was educated at the Lawrence School, Sanawar. He dropped out of a filmmaking course in New York University to assist Mira Nair on The Perez Family. He had been an assistant for Hollywood films such as The Ice Storm, A Perfect Murder and... Addicted to Love. Before becoming a film director, Apoorva was an assistant director for Ashutosh Gowariker's period epic film Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India. As Amir Khan was looking for someone with Hollywood experience for Lagaan, Farhan Akhtar recommended Apoorva, who had worked with casts and crews in Hollywood. He also worked as the second assistant director for the film Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love . He made his debut as a film director with the 2002 film Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost. His second film Ek Ajnabee released in 2005 which starred Amitabh Bachchan in the leading role was a remake of the Hollywood film Man on Fire. His third film Shootout at Lokhandwala which has a multi-star cast released on 25 May 2007 and was based on real-life events involving the underworld gangsters Maya Dolas and Dilip Buwa.

Sanjay Gupta is a Bollywood writer-director known for his dark thrillers Sanjay Gupta comes from an affluent business family of South Mumbai. He completed his studies at Palm Beach School at Napean Sea Road and Sydenham College at Churchgate in Mumbai. He has frequently worked with Sanjay Dutt. The... two started White Feather Films, a production company located in Mumbai, together. Both have publicly admitted they consider each other real brothers and are very close friends. Much of his work has been criticised as re-interpretations of other films, both Hollywood and other international pieces. Gupta refuted these claims in an interview with rediff.com in 2002. Zinda bears a striking resemblance to Oldboy, a 2003 South Korean film directed by Park Chan-wook, but is not an officially sanctioned remake. It was reported in 2005 that Zinda was under investigation for violation of copyright. A spokesman for Show East, the distributor of Oldboy, said, "if we find out there's indeed a strong similarity between the two, it looks like we'll have to talk with our lawyers." His movie Kaante is also a Hindi remake of the film Reservoir Dogs directed by Quentin Tarantino.

Meghna Gulzar is a Hindi Film Director, and is the only daughter of famous lyricist and poet Gulzar and actress Rakhee. She is also the writer of a book titled "Because He Is about her father Gulzar saab. Meghna started her writing journey as a freelance writer for The Times of India and the NFDC... publication Cinema in India. Her poems have been published in anthologies of the Poetry Society of India. After completing her graduation in Sociology, Meghna worked with noted filmaker Saeed Akhtar Mirza as an assistant director. In 1995, she went on to do a short course in filmmaking from the Tisch School of Arts, New York University, New York. Upon her return, she joined her father writer director-director Gulzar, as an assistant on his notable films Maachis and HU Tu Tu. Meghna simultaneously began scripting her own film along with directing documentaries for Doordarshan and music videos for several music albums. She directed her first film Filhaal in 2002, starring Former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen and Tabu. Her second movie was Just Married in 2007. She also directed a short film "Pooranmasi" for Sanjay Gupta's Dus Kahaniyaan Starring Amrita Singh.
