Falls Church is an independent city in Virginia, United States, in the Washington Metropolitan Area. The city population was 12,332 in 2010, up from 10,377 in 2000. Taking its name from The Falls Church, an 18th-century Anglican parish, Falls Church gained township status within Fairfax County in... 1875. In 1948, it was incorporated as the City of Falls Church, an independent city with county-level governance status. It is also referred to as Falls Church City. The city's corporate boundaries do not include all of the area historically known as Falls Church; these areas include portions of Seven Corners and other portions of the current Falls Church postal districts of Fairfax County, as well as the area of Arlington County known as East Falls Church, which was part of the town of Falls Church from 1875 to 1936. For statistical purposes, the US Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis combines the City of Falls Church with Fairfax City and Fairfax County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.2 square miles , all of it land.

Former U.S. Vice President Dan Quayle has been a prominent Cerberus spokesperson and runs one of its international units. The firm's headquarters are located at 299 Park Avenue in New York City. Feinberg has stated to his employees that while the Cerberus name seemed like a good idea at the time, he later regretted naming the company after the mythological dog. In 2006, its holdings amounted to $24 billion. On October 19, 2006, John W. Snow, President George W. Bush's second Treasury Secretary, was named chairman of Cerberus. J. Ezra Merkin is a partner in Cerberus. Merkin invested his funds into Cerberus and its portfolio companies.
