Texas Tech University, often referred to as Texas Tech or TTU, is a public research university in Lubbock, Texas, United States. Established on February 10, 1923, and originally known as Texas Technological College, it is the leading institution of the Texas Tech University System and has the... seventh-largest student body in the state of Texas. With 1,839 acres , it has the second largest contiguous campus in the United States and is the only school in Texas to house an undergraduate institution, law school, and medical school at the same location. Texas Tech University has awarded over 200,000 degrees since 1927, including over 40,000 graduate and professional degrees. The Carnegie Foundation classifies Texas Tech as having "high research activity". Schulenburg is a city in Fayette County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,699 at the 2000 census. Known for its German culture, Schulenburg is home of the Texas Polka Music Museum.
