At 5'11" and 175 pounds, Earl Francis "Jug" Girard was a multi-talented American football player who played ten seasons in the National Football League as an end, punter and kick-off returner, mainly for the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions from 1948 to 1957. He also played quarterback and defensive back early in his career. A University of Wisconsin All-American in 1944, "Jukin' Jug" had a total of 703 yards in his NFL career, 194 rushing for 3.6 average yards, and 109 pass receptions.
