OPEC  /ˈoʊpɛk/ OH-pek; is a permanent, intergovernmental Organization, created at the Baghdad Conference on September... 10–14, 1960, by Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. The five Founding Members were later joined by nine other Members: Qatar ; Indonesia – suspended its membership from January 2009; Libya ; United Arab Emirates ; Algeria ; Nigeria ; Ecuador – suspended its membership from December 1992-October 2007; Angola and Gabon . OPEC had its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, in the first five years of its existence i.e. 1960 to 1965 . This was moved to Vienna, Austria, on September 1, 1965. According to its statutes, one of the principal goals is the determination of the best means for safeguarding the organization's interests, individually and collectively.

The World Bank is one of five institutions created at the Bretton Woods Conference in 1944. The International Monetary Fund, a related institution, is the second. Delegates from many countries attended the Bretton Woods Conference.

The United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration was an international relief agency, largely dominated by the United States but... representing 44 nations. Founded in 1943, it became part of the United Nations in 1945, was especially active in 1945 and 1946, and largely shut down operations in 1947. Its purpose was to "plan, co-ordinate, administer or arrange for the administration of measures for the relief of victims of war in any area under the control of any of the United Nations through the provision of food, fuel, clothing, shelter and other basic necessities, medical and other essential services". Its staff of civil servants included 12,000 people, with headquarters in New York. Funding came from many nations, and totaled $3.7 billion, of which the United States contributed $2.7 billion; Britain $625 million and Canada $139 million. UNRRA cooperated closely with dozens of volunteer charitable organizations, who sent hundreds of their own agencies to work alongside UNRRA.

The League of Nations was an intergovernmental organisation founded as a result of the Paris Peace Conference that ended the First World War. It was... the first permanent international organisation whose principal mission was to maintain world peace. Its primary goals, as stated in its Covenant, included preventing wars through collective security and disarmament, and settling international disputes through negotiation and arbitration. Other issues in this and related treaties included labour conditions, just treatment of native inhabitants, human and drug trafficking, arms trade, global health, prisoners of war, and protection of minorities in Europe. At its greatest extent from 28 September 1934 to 23 February 1935, it had 58 members. The diplomatic philosophy behind the League represented a fundamental shift from the preceding hundred years. The League lacked its own armed force and depended on the Great Powers to enforce its resolutions, keep to its economic sanctions, or provide an army when needed. However, the Great Powers were often reluctant to do so. Sanctions could hurt League members, so they were reluctant to comply with them.

Gabriela Villalba is a Ecuadorian singer and actress. Gabriela Villalba was born in Quito, Ecuador on September 20, 1985. Her full birth name is... María Gabriela Villalba Jervis. Her nickname is Gaby and she has seven brothers: Juan Carlos, Ricardo, Diego, Sandra, Mateo, Santiago and Alessandro. Her parents are Juan Carlos Villalba and Paulina Jervis. Gaby started in world of media by doing TV commercials at a very young age. She announced her new solo album is going to be released in 2011. Her fame stardom started when she was chosen to participate in the Ecuadorian version of the reality show Popstars. She won and became a part of the best selling Ecuadorian girl band Kiruba. They sold 20,000 copies of their debut album. Sadly, the band only lasted two years more, recording two studio albums Kiruba and Baila La Luna. After the disintegration of the group in 2005, Gabriela starred in a Colombian soap opera entitled 'Al Ritmo De Tu Corazón' , where also sang and composed the main theme for it. This international situation leads to several well-known producers to offer her launch as a soloist.

Juan Fernando Velasco is an Ecuadorian musician. Juan Fernando Velasco was born January 17, 1972 in Quito, Ecuador. He never planned to be a... musician, he was preparing to become an economist like his father. After finalizing four semesters of Economics, he realized this was not what he wanted to do and decided to dedicate fully to music. In 2002 Velasco released his second album, Tanto amor. The album reached platinum status in Ecuador and Colombia and also was a success in other countries. The songs "Chao Lola", "Dicen", "Hoy que no estás", "Si alguna vez te amé", and "Salud" were in the first places on the charts in Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, Guatemala and Costa Rica. In 2004 he received the “Orden Vicente Rocafuerte” - the highest award granted by the Ecuadorian government to an artist. He was also named "Peace Ambassador" by the Interamerican Platform of Human Rights. Velasco's music career started when he, together with some school friends, created the band "Tercer Mundo" , which became very well known in Ecuador. After ten years with the band, he decided to continue his career alone.
