The Baltimore Ravens are a professional football franchise based in Baltimore, Maryland and a member of the AFC North Division in the National Football League. The Baltimore Ravens are officially a quasi-expansion franchise, having originated in 1996 with the Cleveland Browns relocation controversy... after Art Modell, then owner of the Cleveland Browns, announced his intention to relocate the team to Baltimore. Modell's team was named the "Baltimore Ravens" after a fan contest and began play in the 1996 season. The Ravens triumphed over the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXXV at the conclusion of the 2000 season. The Ravens are currently one of four teams to win in their lone Super Bowl appearance, along with the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A 2012 poll on NFL.com rated the 2000 team as one of the two greatest NFL teams of the Super Bowl Era. The Ravens have experienced great success in their brief history, making the playoffs eight times since 2000, and winning the AFC North three times . The team's history has also featured the careers of Jonathan Ogden, Ray Lewis, and Ed Reed.

St. Rose is on the East Bank of the Mississippi River two miles north of the Jefferson Parish, Louisiana border, and is part of the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.0 square miles , of which, 4.0 square miles of it is land and 1.0 square miles of it is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 6,540 people, 2,286 households, and 1,748 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,620.1 people per square mile . There were 2,385 housing units at an average density of 590.8 per square mile . The racial makeup of the CDP was 55.23% White, 41.51% African American, 0.32% Native American, 0.47% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 1.19% from other races, and 1.24% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.53% of the population.
