Christophe Beck , also credited as Chris Beck, is a Canadian television and film score composer. A native of Montreal, Beck graduated from Crescent... School in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He studied music at Yale University, where he was the music director of the Spizzwinks of 1989 and 1990 and the Whiffenpoofs of 1991. He studied film scoring at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, where he was taught by Jerry Goldsmith among others. Studied and worked under Mike Post for a period, including writing uncredited music on some of Post's series. He won an Emmy Award in 1998 for his work on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He has also worked on Angel and The Practice.

Vancouver is a coastal seaport city on the mainland of British Columbia, Canada. The city is ethnically and linguistically diverse, with 52% for whom English is not their first language. The settlement of Gastown grew around a logging sawmill established in 1867, enlarging to become the townsite of Granville. With the announcement that the railhead would reach the site, it was renamed "Vancouver" and incorporated as a city in 1886. By 1887, the transcontinental railway was extended to the city to take advantage of its large natural seaport, which soon became a vital link in a trade route between the Orient, Eastern Canada, and London.
